Is Modere a Scam? – A Slightly Different MLM Business [Review]

Chances are, someone has just introduced to you an awesome product by Modere or a very good business opportunity for you to make good money with this company.

Since Modere is quite hot recently on Facebook & Twitter, you may have come across some of their advertisements on social media.

First of all, I must Congratulate you for taking your time to do your own research before buying into any "seemingly good" product.

That's the way to avoid scams and find the legitimate way to make money online!

To be completely transparent with you, I'm not associated with Modere in any form so I'm not here to promote any products or business opportunity to you.

Instead, I'm here to give you a 3rd party Modere review and reveal to you the necessary insider secrets you need to know about this company.

Can Modere really help you gain health & wealth? Or is Modere a scam?

Modere is yet another Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) company competing in the health & wellness market.

Some Background Info...

Modere is just a re-branded company from Neways International.

Neways was founded in 1992 but it was acquired in 2013 by Z Capital.

This transformation includes completely new ownership, management, branding, styling, pricing and growth strategies as well as a new name, business model and compensation plan.

After the transformation, Modere was officially launched in February 2014.

However, here are some UGLY TRUTHS I've found...

One of the reasons for the transformation was because the owners of Neways were corrupted.

They were caught for tax evasion and conspiracy to defraud the government.

The worst part is that they were even sentenced to 2 years of jail. (Proof here!)

This shows that re-branding may not be a good thing.

In the case of Neways or Modere, they were just trying to paint a better picture for the company.

So they even claimed that they have completely new ownership and management team which doesn't seem to be the truth.

Robert Conlee, the ex-CEO of Neways, is still the current CEO of Modere!

Modere Product Line

Just like Youngevity, LifeVantage, Jeunesse, and many other similar MLM companies, they all sell a wide range of products trying to monetize from every single aspects of our health, wellness and even our household.

As for Modere, their main product categories include:

• Collagen Sciences - Collagen chews & drinks
• Health & Wellness - All sorts of supplements for different purposes like anti-aging, weight loss, active health, etc.
• Personal Care - Lotion, toner, makeup remover, shampoo, gels, creams and all the personal body care products you can think of.
• Household Care - Laundry detergents, dish wash, kitchen cleaning products, etc. (P.S. For more safe household care products, see Norwex.)

Anyway, one of their flagship health & wellness product is the M3 Formulation series.

Basically, they have created this unique formula to help you improve your overall health & weight.

All you need to do is to take 3 supplements & make 3 lifestyle changes.

Just like any other network marketing company, in order for you to make money with Modere, you have to either sell their products or recruit people as your downline.

How to get started?

There's a startup cost of $29.95 for you to join and become their "Social Marketer", their term to describer distributor.

This kind of startup cost is very common for all MLM companies.

They usually consists of some training and materials to get started. But this doesn't include any products.

You still need to purchase a $399 Builder Collection Package.

Although that's not compulsory, it's very hard for you to build a business without the builder package which consists of products for you to promote.

They also claim that you'll able to jump-start your business with this package.

To be honest, this kind of rules are very common among MLM companies.

The good thing about Modere is that their startup cost is lower compared to some other companies like Youngevity, LifeVantage and Essante Organics.

Some of them cost up to a thousand just to get started.

However, the bad thing is that $400 is still consider quite expensive for many people who want to make money.

Modere Compensation Plan

Again, just like any other MLM companies, Modere has all sorts of different BONUSES trying to make it seems like a really lucrative business when it's really not that easy.

Social Marketers also take part in a points system in which they can earn gifts, free shipping, product samples, and other incentives.

In fact, these are the things that make MLM compensation plan complicated and confusing.

1. Not Completely Rely on Face-to-Face Selling

Like I've mentioned in the beginning, one advantage of Modere is that they're not completely relying on face-to-face selling, despite recruiting is still their main focus in order to make big money.

They're putting more focus on promoting your businesses through social media and getting leads in a more passive way.

So, instead of you going out to acquire customers actively, you can set up systems online to generate leads and potential customers in a more efficient way.

This is actually a huge advantage over many traditional MLM companies.

2. Eco-Friendly

Many other companies also claim their products are eco-friendly.

What makes Modere unique is that they don't just focus on their products. Their manufacturing & distribution facilities are also eco-friendly, which is a rare thing to have.

Their manufacturing plants use 100% wind power and they also adopt 100% recyclable packaging.

3. Satisfied Customers

Since Modere is still relatively new, there isn't much feedback, complaints or reviews online.

But after doing some research, I found out that they have 4 positive reviews on Better Business Bureau (BBB) and no negative reviews so far at the point of writing:

This is a good sign. It really shows that their products work despite the lack of research proofs.

1. Poor Training & Support

Since they're still relatively new, their training and support system is still not that comprehensive yet.

Despite they promote using social media to grow your business, there's still a lack of training on how to effectively leverage all the different media to run your business.

2. Saturated & Competitive Market

Another thing is that the health & wellness market is really saturated and competitive.

Health & wellness in a huge pie, really!

But if you're observant enough, you'll realize that majority of the MLM companies are trying very hard to share a piece of this huge pie.

If you're interested in this, you really need to think twice and ask yourself whether you really love their products or not.

A much better way to run a MLM business is to find a company with products you sincerely love to use and then share it with others, instead of trying so hard to sell them.

If you're joining certain company just for the money, there's a high chance that you'll not only fail, but lose quite a lot of money.

3. Questionable Product Reliability

Just like many other health-related MLM companies, there's a lack of scientific research to proof many of the health claims made by such companies or their distributors.

This is a very common issue for many companies.

Personally, the health supplement product that I trust and has real scientific proof is Usana Health Sciences.

4. Low Success Rate

Last but not least, there's a really low success rate for many MLM companies because most of the money is being made by people at the top.

Just take a look at Modere's 2017 Income Disclosure:

More than 80% of the distributors (Social Marketers) earned less than $1,100 a year.

And 31.67% of them didn't even a penny!

I'm not saying it's impossible for you to succeed but it's really not that easy.

There are a lot of hard work to be done before you can start making some money and eventually making a living with this business.

Nope, Modere is definitely not a scam. In fact, I consider this MLM company better than many others because of their recruitment system.

They are leveraging more on social media to grow their business which is definitely much better than the traditional way of face-to-face selling & recruiting.

We all hate that, I know!

But ultimately, this company is still pretty new. It's only launched in 2014.

So, there's still a long way to go for them.

One major problem I want to highlight is their lack of training. This is a serious problem they need to solve.

If not, it's even harder for complete beginners to succeed.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of MLM because in my opinion, Affiliate Marketing is a much better business model for anyone to make money online.

The reason is simple...

• You don't have to recruit people to make money
• You have the freedom to promote any products you want and not being restricted to only promote the products from the same MLM company.
