What is InteleTravel?

First of all, let's hear directly from the President of InteleTravel and see how he describes his own company:

Basically, InteleTravel is a Network Marketing company selling discounted travel tickets & packages to people who want to travel (which is essentially everyone).

It's 2 very similar competitors are World Ventures & Evolution Travel!

According to themselves, their goal is to:

  1. Make travel better, easier and more affordable for customers
  2. Provide an easy and profitable work from home job that can be full time, part time or just a hobby

I can agree that they're able to make travel easier and more affordable for customers because customers don't have to pay for agent fees.

inteletravel benefits

"Travel agents" from InteleTravel are paid commissions based on the amount and type of travel packages they sell.

So for people working with InteleTravel, it's like working on a freelance basis, unlike traditional travel agency where you're being hired by certain company.

That's one of the advantages for InteleTravel agents.

But I can't agree that this is "an easy and profitable work from home job".

It's far from the truth because more than 98% of the so-called "travel agents" can't even earn a minimum wage. (This is the ugly truth. Keep reading and I'll show you the evidence!)

InteleTravel Product Line

InteleTravel doesn't really have a product line because they don't product products themselves.

Instead, they partner with various different travel suppliers/partners to offer travel packages and discounts to its customers.

Here are some of the partners of InteleTravel:

  • Cruise Lines - Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, Disney Cruise Line, etc...
  • Airlines - British Airways, American Airways, Delta Airlines, Air France, etc...
  • Hotels & Resorts - Club Med, Sandals Resorts, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, W Hotels, etc...
  • Vacation Packages - Travel Impressions, Funjet Vacations, Disney Vacations, etc...
  • Car Rental Services - Avis, Hertz, Budget
  • Travel Insurance - Travel Insured

See the full list below:

With InteleTravel's membership, agents will be granted access to:

  • Exclusive Travel Offers
  • A personalized Travel Booking website (where customers can directly book on your site and you earn commissioins)
  • Insider Travel Knowledge
  • Full customer support from the Company
  • Competitive Travel Rates to help its agents win customers

Now, this lead us to our next topic - How to make money with InteleTravel?

How to Make Money with InteleTravel?

Just like any other MLM companies, there are 2 main ways for you to make money with InteleTravel:

  1. Earn a percentage of commissions from the travel tickets/packages you sold
  2. Earn commission by recruiting more "travel agents" as your downline member

But before we go into the details of the compensation plan, let's first understand how to join InteleTravel...

How to Get Started with InteleTravel?

InteleTravel has a little bit different MLM structure.

They don't offer their own business opportunities as InteleTravel. Instead, they partner with another company called PlanNet Marketing where James Ferrara, founder of InteleTravel, is a member of their corporate management team.

What this means is that if you want to join InteleTravel, you actually have to sign up through PlanNet Marketing.

And here are the costs involved when joining them to become a "travel agent":

  • InteleTravel Enrollment Fee – $179.95 one-time
  • Monthly Administrative Fee – $39.95 per month
  • PlanNet Marketing Administrative Fee – $19.95 per month
  • Total – $179.99 + $59.90 per month

Once you're approved, you'll be able to access their training, support and even your own website and start promoting travel products to your friends, relatives, colleagues, etc.

And that's where our compensation plan comes in...

InteleTravel Compensation Plan

Here's how it works...

For every travel product sold, InteleTravel will earn anywhere between 8% to 16% depending on the type of product. (The rest goes to the supplier. InteleTravel is just a travel agency)

And within that 8-16%, 70-80% will be paid as commission to the independent distributor (travel agent) who sold the product.

Let me give you a simple example to illustrate this:

Let say your friend Tom purchased a $1,800 vacation package and InteleTravel's base commission from this supplier is 14%.

$1,800 x 14% = $252

In other words, InteleTravel will earn $252 in this transaction.

You as a travel agent can earn 70% of what InteleTravel earns, so your commission by selling this package to Tom is:

$252 x 70% = $176

On top of that, even if this package is not sold directly by you, instead it is sold by your downline agent, you're able to earn 10% override from his/her effort.

In this case, $176 x 10% = $17.60

So, if this particular package was sold by travel agents you've recruited under you, you'll be able to earn $17.60 from his/her effort.

Okay, I know this is getting a bit technical for some of you.

So let's take a look at this video explanation:

On top of all these travel product sales, you can also earn commission by recruiting people to become a travel agent of InteleTravel.

But that system is provided by PlanNet Marketing. So this video below will explain to you how its compensation works for recruiting people in the company:

What I Like About InteleTravel...

1. Reliable Company

InteleTravel is a pretty reliable company because it was founded back in 1992 and it has over 25 years of experience as one of the pioneers in this travel industry.

More importantly, here are some of its achievements:

  • Norton Secured
  • Accredited by Better Business Bureau (BBB) with an A+ rating
  • Awarded the BBB Online Reliability Seal
  • Appointed and recognized by the travel industry regulatory authorities, the Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC), the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) and Vacation.com
inteletravel bbb rating

With all these awards and recognition, it's clear that InteleTravel is a trustworthy company.

2. Offset Some Travel Expenditure

If you're a frequent traveler, becoming an InteleTravel agent can help you offset your travel expenditure because of all the discounts and rewards you can get.

The good thing is that you can even earn commissions by booking travel for your friends, family, colleagues or even yourself.

Yes, you can leverage the InteleTravel system and book travel for yourself to get discounts and earn commissions.

But you need to consider the cost of becoming a travel agent as well.

Like I've explained earlier on, it's $179.99 + $59.90 per month.

3. No Monthly Minimum Order Requirement

Another thing I like about InteleTravel is that it doesn't seem to have any monthly order requirement which is compulsory for all other MLM companies.

Minimum order requirement is like an autoship. You need to purchase a certain amount of products yourself every month to quality for commission.

This rule is necessary for many MLM companies to be sustainable because that ensures people at the top of the pyramid can be paid.

So this is definitely a very good advantage for InteleTravel.

What I DON'T Like About InteleTravel...

1. Not For Everyone

I will only recommend InteleTravel to those existing travel agents or tour guides because helping others to handle their travel plan is actually a huge responsibility.

If you don't have the necessary expertise and passion for it and you're just here for the money, you'll most likely fail or even get yourself into troubles.

To be honest with you, not everyone can handle this kind of job and responsibility well.

If you've ever helped other people to plan and book for travel, you'll know what I'm talking about.

2. Dishonest Marketing Methods

This is a very common problem with such travel agency companies.

For example, some distributors or system will try to show you pricing comparisons for the same hotel on different websites and prove to you that it's much cheaper to book with them.

However, there have been cases where distributors use unfair pricing comparison to cheat people simply because they want to make money.

To be honest, it's pretty easy to cheat the price on different websites with some tricks.

3. Delayed Commission

This is one of the biggest concern I have for InteleTravel.

You'll need to wait for 60 days after the travel is completed to get paid. Not only that, you'll only get paid on the 15th of the following month after the 60-day period.

So if you managed to sell one travel package today, it's possible for you to wait up to 3 months before your commission comes in.

I didn't make this up. This is clearly stated in their terms & conditions.

4. Not Honoring Refund Policy

Although InteleTravel has an A+ rating on BBB, they actually have quite a number of complaints regarding their refund policy.

A lot of people complained that they're unable to cancel their membership or get a refund within the money-back guarantee period.

There were also complaints regarding InteleTravel's customer service not responding to their requests...

inteletravel scam
inteletravel scam review

These are just 3 of the complaints.

5. NO MONEY FOR YOU!

Finally, this is the most worrying part for me and for all the distributors.

Like I've said in the beginning, the most serious problem with InteleTravel is that the average annual income earned by their travel agents is merely $282.19!

Here's the proof:

inteletravel income disclosure

InteleTravel Income Disclosure Statement 2017

This is the InteleTravel Income Disclosure Statement 2017.

There are a few worrying facts:

  1. 97.65% of the distributors (travel agents) only earn an average annual income of $69.95
  2. 1.81% of the distributors earn an average annual income of $3,101.78
  3. The average annual income of all the travel agents is only $282.19 in the year 2017 (See last row)

Can you see why I said you shouldn't be looking into this opportunity if you're just here for the money?

Is InteleTravel a Scam?

Nope, InteleTravel is definitely not a scam.

It's a legitimate travel agency that's operating with a direct selling business model.

It has also received quite a number of awards and recognition from various authorities in the travel industry.

From the customer's perspective, this is a good travel agency because you don't have to pay for travel agent fees.

However, like I've said again and again, please stay away from InteleTravel if you're just here to make money and work from home.

The evidence I've just shown you proves that to you. Extremely few people can earn a sustainable income from InteleTravel.

Let me repeat myself one more time...

The average annual income for their travel agents is ONLY $282.19!

How I Make a Living Online...

I'm really not a fan of MLM because of all the restrictions and limitation it has.

Instead, my top recommended business model for anyone to make money online and work from home is Affiliate Marketing!

The reason is simple...

  • You don't need to recruit anyone to make money
  • You have the freedom to promote any products you like and not be restricted to only promote products from the same MLM company

In fact, with affiliate marketing...

I've personally created a 4-Figure Monthly Passive Income Stream and become financially independent at just 21 years old without any College degree or working experience!

Through my own hard work, I went from a broke restaurant waiter to living my dream laptop lifestyle in less than a year's time...

While I commend your thorough research, your information is a bit skewed. The proof you provided was not from Inteletravel but from PlanNet Marketing. These are two separate companies. You earn commission off travel sells through Inteletravel as a travel agent. The average you pictured is from PlanNet Marketing where average is for becoming a builder and growing a team. Yes you receive compensation from building your team, but this does not have anything to do with Inteletravel commissions but in addition to because they are two different companies entirely. $179 is for travel agency with $39.95 monthly maintenance fee. $19.95 is for PlanNet marketing (optional not required) with $19.95. monthly maintenance fee. Hope this clears up the confusion. As I stated great information just can’t combine the two as they are two separate companies.

Thank you for confirming accurately that Inteletravel is not a scam.

I can appreciate your blog and attempt to help people decipher MLM companies since there are so many scams. However, your facts about Inteletravel and the annual income is inaccurate. Avg. commission per trip can range from $200 – $700 per booking. I am an agent with them as well as successfully run my own Prop. Mgmt Business of 14 years. Jennifer, who posted the comments above states everything I was going to say. As with any business, consistancy is the key and with time you can achieve replacing income or supplementing it ie, 500/month or 100K year (yes, I have team members doing both). Thanks Jennifer for clarifying so many points.

Thanks for confirming it’s not a scam. Your review is quite interesting and informative; however not exactly accurate. First of all, you don’t have to sign up with both InteleTravel and PlanNet Marketing. You do have the option to sign up with one or the other or both if you choose to. Second, they do have a 30 day money back guarantee, but you have to cancel before the 30 days is up, unlike those you had used in your example above. If you don’t want, you can cancel, but no refund for what you have already paid. Just like the terms in any other money back guarantee. And finally, the annual income you reported. Yes, those numbers may average to $282.19, but it really comes down to the individual. Some of those agents don’t put in nearly as much effort into their business as others. So obviously those who do market themselves well to their sphere of influence and the public will do much better than those who are basically a “secret” agent. For example, there are agents that have joined the business and within a few months to a year make 6 figures, while others who, during the same time length or even years longer, are only making maybe $3,000/$6000 annually. So I think you putting all the agents (32,000+ worldwide) under one umbrella and then averaging it isn’t accurate. Oh, and one more thing I wanted to mention. When you were discussing the breakdown of commission. Yes, the upline does earn a 10% bonus from the downline booking travel, but I think you forgot to mention that that bonus isn’t paid out of the downline’s commission. It’s paid from InteleTravel. Never does any part of the downline’s commission go to the upline. Everyone keeps what they earn plus bonuses from which is paid from InteleTravel. InteleTravel offers every agent equal opportunity to learn how to book travel, work with suppliers/vendors and earn a great deal of income, but it all depends on the individual agent on what they do with that opportunity.

I do thank you, however for this review and explaining that InteleTravel is not a scam. If only the rest of the world knew that most network marketing/MLM/home based businesses are not scams, but only entrepreneurs, stay-at-home parents, or individuals that are just looking to take control of their futures and provide financial freedom for their family.
