What Is PureTrim? It’s A Below Than Average MLM Company

Welcome to my PureTrim review!

Health and wellness MLM companies make up the majority of the industry, and it continues to grow every single year.

MLM companies marketing health and wellness products are also specific to at least a couple of niches, ranging from weight loss to skin care to vitamins and minerals. One might even think that MLM companies in this niche are worth investing time and money on.

But are they really?

Today, we’re looking at PureTrim, a new MLM company.

First of all, I must Congratulate you for taking your time to do your own research before buying into any "seemingly good" product.

That's the way to avoid scams and find the legitimate way to make money online!

Let me be completely transparent with you, I'm not associated with PureTrim in any form.

So, rest assured that I'm not here to pitch or sell anything to you.

Instead, I'm here to reveal why this program disappointed us more than any other MLM company we reviewed...

What is PureTrim?

PureTrim is a MLM or multi-level marketing company belonging to the health and wellness niche, one of the biggest niches in the MLM industry.

Their landing page provides no other information other than when they started and other promotional materials. It doesn’t show who the owners are, or who runs the company.

However, we found out a couple of things. On their Policies and Procedures document, PureTrim is a division of Awareness Corp. Apparently, this is a rebranded version of another MLM called AwarenessLife Worldwide.

The company rebranded back in 2014 without specifying the exact reason why. Digging further, we found out that the owner of the company happens to be Mark Tahiliani.

He goes by the name of Dr. Marc in AwarenessLife Worldwide.

If you wondered why his name wasn’t on the website, that’s because he was involved in a pyramid scheme back in 2011. The case was settled, but the damage was already done at that point. He, along with a few others, were forced to pay thousands of dollars in damages.

Now that’s settled, let’s move on to their products.

PureTrim Product Line

PureTrim markets various nutritional products, ranging from shakes to teas.

Here’s a list of the most popular products they have:

  • PureTrim products ($39 for 10 packets)
  • Liquid Multi-Vitamin ($39 per month)
  • TrimBar ($29 for 5 bars)
  • 10-Day Weight Loss StarterPak ($159)

On the surface, the products look legit, and they’ve done their due diligence to have these products tested. However, they’re a little pricey compared to the commercial counterparts.

For example, TrimBar roughly costs $6 per bar. Going into Amazon, you’ll find various meal replacement bars priced at less than $5.

Do they have something special that would justify the price? Let’s move on to the next section.

Does The Product Work?

Now, PureTrim claims that their products went through various clinical studies. They even have a page that says that the studies done are proof of how effective the products are.

Unfortunately, only 4 of their products were part of the studies: Mediterranean Wellness Shake, Experience, Daily Complete, and PureGardens.

Here’s where it gets tricky.

The study titles were given, but results were never presented. Are they hiding something, or are they downplaying the fact that results were not what they expected?

It’s quite normal for MLM companies to make unproven claims, but some of them are decent enough to place disclaimers on the fine print of the product label.

As for customer feedback, we can’t seem to find any that would make us believe that their products are actually working as promised.

How To Make Money with PureTrim?

There’s only two ways to make money from PureTrim.

  • Commissions from making sales
  • Commissions and bonuses from building a team and meeting sales goals

How To Get Started with PureTrim?

PureTrim is not an affordable MLM in terms of starting up. Listed below are the associated costs of getting started:

  • Annual fee of $29
  • Monthly autoship of $400 to qualify for the MLM compensation plan

Your monthly autoship decreases when you recruit at least 3 people into the program and they themselves have signed up for an autoship.

PureTrim Compensation Plan

Their compensation plan isn’t that unique, nor does it provide anything of value. It’s your generic MLM compensation plan, just with different company names and percentages.

Affiliate Ranks

You get promoted to 7 different ranks by meeting certain goals, ranging from sales goals to recruitment goals.

You also get rewards for getting promoted.

On the second rank, Direct Promoter, you become eligible for the recruitment commissions.

Retail Commissions

Retail commissions range between 10% and 35%, depending on your rank. Basically the higher ranked you are, the higher your commission percentage is.

This commissions is just your profit since you get discounted wholesale pricing when buying products and then sell them for MSRP.

The difference between Retail and Wholesale pricing becomes your commission.

Residual Commissions

This follows a unilevel structure where your recruits and their recruits are placed under you.

What Is PureTrim - Unilevel Payment Structure

What Is PureTrim - Unilevel Payment Structure

Your first level will contain your personal recruits.

Your second level contains your recruits’ recruits.

And so on.

You earn a percentage of their earnings based on level, and the number of levels you can earn from is based on rank:

  • 1 Star Promoters earn 5% on level 1 recruits (personal recruits)
  • 2 Star Promoters earn 5% on level 1 and level 2 recruits
  • 3 Star Promoters earn 5% on level 1 to Level 3 recruits
  • 4 Star Promoters earn 5% on level 1 to level 4 recruits
  • 5 Star Promoters earn 5% on level 1 to level 5 recruits
  • President's Club earn 5% on level 1 to level 6 recruits

Various Bonuses

You can earn various bonuses once you reach the 3-Star Promoter rank. Such bonuses include:

  • All Star Matching Bonus – If you recruit 7 Direct Promoters, you get $700
  • Fast Start Bonus – Earn $100 when you recruit a member who qualifies for Direct Promoter Rank
  • Frontline Bonus – 10% bonus of your Direct Promoter recruits when they buy products
  • Luxury Car Bonus – A bonus that gets put towards car payments, ranging from $150 to $1500 depending on rank

PureTrim Ugly Truths Revealed!

#1 Expensive Startup

Not surprisingly, PureTrim is quite an expensive MLM to get started with. Keyword here is “STARTED”.

While most would consider this as an investment for their business, it doesn’t change the fact that you’re going to be out hundreds of dollars on your first month. This puts pressure on you to sell the moment you get your products.

#2 Founder Was Involved In Pyramid Schemes

I’m sure that the reason why Tahiliani’s name wasn’t listed on PureTrim’s website is the fact that he was involved in a pyramid scheme called BigSmart in 2001 and was sued by the FTC for it.

The case was settled, but the damage was done.

You’ll find the case details right here.

#3 Autoship

One disappointing thing about PureTrim is their monthly autoship. Now for those of you who don’t know what this is, this is a subscription of sorts into the company that gets you products to sell every month.

Whether you sell them or not before your next order doesn’t really matter. The bottom line here is that you’re heading into the first month with huge expenses, and the pressure is on for selling.

Otherwise, you’re stuck with inventory that gets accumulated over time. Every product you don’t sell is money you don’t get back.

What I Like About PureTrim?

There’s just nothing to like about this program, and that’s because there’s nothing unique to offer. It has nothing that would make it worth your while in investing in the program.

If you just want to get the products, just buy at the retail pricing. It’s not even worth it to get the wholesale discount.

Is PureTrim a Scam?

PureTrim is a legitimate MLM company with a somewhat decent income opportunity, but it’s not really something we’d recommend to anyone. If you want to start your own business, you’ll need to look elsewhere.

There’s a couple of things wrong with this program:

  • It’s quite expensive to get started, and the fact that you’re hitting the first month with expenses means that you’re shelling out money for products before you can even sell them.
  • The founder has had prior involvement with a pyramid scheme. This puts into perspective on the sudden focus of recruitment on their compensation plan.
  • Their products are more expensive than their commercial counterparts. One can easily find cheap brands on Amazon that do the same job as their products, and more.

This program is not just worth looking into at this time.
