What is Younique?

Younique isn't really "unique"....

It's just a Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) company selling cosmetic products, such as eye-lashes, mascara, skincare creams and many more.

I said it's not unique because there are many other bigger competitors out there, such as Avon & Mary Kay.

Younique's mission is to "uplift, empower, and validate women across the globe, helping a global family of women realize their potential for personal growth and financial reward.”

Basically, they want to give women a chance to grow both personally and financially through selling Younique products.

Younique Product Line

Make-up.

Their entire product line surrounds make-up products. That's why almost all their members and distributors are females.

I can't list out all of their products because you know...ladies need a ton of different cosmetics and those are never enough, right?

Anyway, let me list out the product categories they have and some of their flagship products:

  • Fragrance - Perfumes
  • Eyes - Mascara, fiber lashes, eyeliner, lash serum, eye primer
  • Lips - Lip exfoliator, lip plumper, lipstick, lip balm
  • Face - Face primer, setting spray, setting powder, pressed blusher
  • Skin - Moisturizer, cleanser, day/night cream, mask, cleaning clothes
  • Tools - Palette, face brush set, eye brush set, lip brush
  • Collections & Sets

These are just some of the examples to give you a big picture. You should know what are the make-up products better than me.

Anyway, their flagship product and also one of the most controversial ones is the Moonstruck 3D Fiber Lashes:

3D Moonstruck Fiber Lashes

This is one of their most popular products because they've put in a lot of marketing effort in this product.

However, it's also very controversial because they claimed that it's all natural with 100% green tea fibers.

The reality is that there isn't any green tea fibers at all. Instead, it's ground-up nylon, which is definitely not natural.

Here's the proof:

How to Make Money with Younique?

Just like any other MLM company, there are 2 main ways for you to make money with Younique:

  1. Sell their products and earn retail commission
  2. Recruit people and build downline teams to earn various bonuses

Before we get into the details of how you actually get paid, let's take a look at how you can get started...

How to Get Started with Younique?

First things first, you have to pay a $99 fee to purchase their Presenter Kit (Starter Kit).

how to get started with younique

Younique Starter Kit

This Starter Kit consists of:

  • Basic products (Mascara, eyeliner, mask samples, lipstick, etc.)
  • Product catalog and other marketing tools, materials
  • Youniversity Training Academy (Training for beginners)
  • Virtual Marketing Tools, Virtual Party System
  • Your personal website for people to purchase Younique products directly

One advantage of Younique is that their Starter Kit comes with some products.

Many other MLMs aren't so nice. They often require distributors to purchase various overpriced product packages on top of the Starter Kit.

Younique Starter Kit is the only requirement for you to start your Younique business.

Younique Compensation Plan

Now comes to their compensation plan and how you get paid...

Younique is similar to other MLMs in the way that they also have various status/ranks that you need to climb.

When you join, you'll start with a White status. The highest status you can achieve is Black, as shown in the screenshot below:

The higher your rank, the more bonuses and commissions you can earn.

As you can see in the next screenshot, the retail commission percentage starts at 20% at White and it increases as your status advance.

The highest commission percentage you can earn on retail sales is 30%.

Now, you may wonder, how do you advance in your status?

Very simple, by selling more products and recruiting more people.

Your status is determined by your sales volume and your downline's sales volume.

Younique Ugly Truths Revealed!

Now comes to the most interesting part. These are the exact reasons why you should stay away from Younique at all cost...

1. Horrible Products

Every company will claim that their products are the best and the most incredible but most of the time it's all very subjective.

In the case of Younique, it's a little bit different because there are large groups of members saying the same thing and that is Younique's products SUCK!

Here are some of the problems:

  • The Mascara dries up after 3 weeks. It costs $30 and it's only usable for about a week.
  • The liquid eyeliner & sunless taner doesn't work at all
  • The lip stain doesn't stay on and it will leave a ring around your lips

Look! I've not tried these products myself but I didn't make this up myself.

Just take a look at what real customer & memebrs are saying:

1. Brainwashed Members!!

You know what?!

Having horrible products that don't work is not the worst yet!

The distributors who are trying to make money with Younique are basically brainwashed by this company.

Here's why...

Most of the members know that the products don't work and they personally don't like the products either.

But they're constantly pitched about the amount of money they can make as you climb up the status.

And the worst part is that the leaders in the company will tell them to shut up, say nothing about the horrible products and continue selling them.

I know it sounds illogical and unethical but you need to understand that when you're being controlled by money, many people will do the things they wouldn't expect themselves to be doing.

That's just the sad truth.

Once again, I didn't make up all these myself.

Just take a look at this video below where one of the honest member who was brave enough to leave Younique and actually expose all these ugly truths to the public.

You really need to watch this:

The video above was someone at the lower end of the pyramid.

Now, here's another lady who was actually making 6 figures from Younique but she quit because she really hated herself for selling horrible products just to make money for herself:

If you're constantly being pushed to do the things you don't feel right, you'll eventually lose the faith in the company and what you're doing.

That's exactly what happened to this lady.

If not, nobody will want to quit a 6-figure business, right?

By the way, you can just go to YouTube and search for "Younique scam". There are many people sharing their personal experience with this company and why they quit.

It's pretty "unique" for a company to have so many people quitting and warning people who are interested to join.

This will never happen for a good company with real products that work.

I'm not saying all Younique products don't work.

But there's more than enough controversies and evidences to prove the horrible quality for many of their products.

The Good Things About Younique...

By now you should know why I really recommend you to stay away from Younique.

But having said that, I still need to mention the good side of this company since I'm an unbiased 3rd party reviewer.

1. A "Younique" Way of Selling & Recruiting

We all know that Younique is just like any other MLM that requires lots of recruiting in order to make more money.

What's "unique" about Younique is that they don't rely so much on the traditional way of recruiting - hosting home parties or physical workshops to sell and recruit people on the spot.

Instead, Younique put more focus on social media.

That's why they're offering you the Virtual Marketing Tools and Virtual Party System in your Starter Kit.

So, you'll be taught on how to host "virtual parties" online and drive people to your personal website.

Whenever someone purchases products through your website, the products will be shipped directly to your customer and you'll earn a commission.

You don't have to handle any shipping or even having an inventory.

This is definitely something good and unique about this company.

They actually pride themselves in being the first direct-sales company to market and sell almost exclusively through social media.

Let me tell you, that's not true.

Although they're considered quite unique compared to those traditional MLM, there are still companies using similar strategy that are doing even better than Younique.

For example, Now Lifestyle is a health & wellness online-based MLM company.

They are integrating MLM with internet marketing in their business model. They even have lead capture system and Email autoresponder for distributors to use.

I can tell you that this is definitely better and more advanced than Younique.

Is Younique a Scam?

No, Younique is not a scam.

It's also not a pyramid scheme because they have real products to sell and not entirely rely on recruitment.

However, I think I've shown you enough evidence to prove that this is a really lousy company with horrible products and business structure.

A lot of ex-members have shared their experience of losing customers or even friends and family members just because they want to make money by selling lousy products from Younique.

I don't want you to be the next. It's not worth it to give it a try.

How I Make a Living Online...

I'm never a fan of network marketing or MLM simply because of all the restrictions they have.

Instead, my top recommended business model for anyone to make money online is Affiliate Marketing!

The reason is simple...

  • You don't have to recruit anyone to make money
  • You have the freedom to promote any products you like and not being restricted to only promote the products from the same MLM (even though you know the products are not good like in the case of Younique)

In fact, with affiliate marketing...

I've personally created a 4-Figure Monthly Passive Income Stream and become financially independent at just 21 years old without any College degree or working experience!

Through my own hard work, I went from a broke restaurant waiter to living my dream laptop lifestyle in less than a year's time...
