Is Motor Club of America a Pyramid Scheme? (Unbiased MCA Review)

What I can promise you is that I'll provide you with as much unbiased information as possible for you to make your decisions.

I've seen too many biased MCA reviews all over the internet. Some of them are affiliates of Motor Club of America who are just trying to recruit you into their system.

Whilst, some of them call MCA an outright scam or pyramid scheme just to promote another program to you. (I don't think MCA is a scam!)

To be completely honest with you, I'm not an affiliate of MCA but I'm an affiliate of Wealthy Affiliate, which is the program that I'm going to recommend to you.

However, I'm willing to tell you this upfront is because I always write reviews based on the true value of the program and give my honest opinion.

So, do we have a deal here? I'll provide you with the best possible information and you give me 100% attention?

Motor Club of America is a Multi-Level Marketing company which offers professional 24/7 roadside assistance services to general public in the US and Canada.

Other than that, it has a wide range of services which include travel, medical & emergency benefits/discounts/assistance, etc... (I'll get to the main benefits in just a moment.)

Founded in 1926, Motor Club of America is older than other companies with similar commission structures such at Amway (1959), Mary Kay (1963) and Legal Shield (1972).

Even the provider of financial and insurance services, Primerica (1977), is based on the MLM structure!

Some direct competitors of MCA include American Automobile Association (AAA), Good Sam Roadside Assistance and Allstate Motor Club, just to name a few of the popular ones.

By the way, MCA is NOT an auto insurance. It's just a supplement service which help support things that are not covered in regular auto insurance plan.

Now, let's take a look at some of the MCA membership benefits before we dive into the money making part of MCA...

Here are the major services you can expect if you decide to become a member of MCA:

• Emergency reimbursement
• Daily hospital benefits
• Emergency travel and living expenses
• Vehicular manslaughter, auto assault or vehicular homicide
• Personal damages collection
• Auto damages collection
• Touring and Travel Services
• Travel Discounts
• Emergency Medical Evacuation or Assisted Repatriation
• Reward for stolen vehicle
• Credit card protection
• Farm and ranch reward

Motor Club of America has a Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) business model which allows members to make money by referring (recruiting) people into the system.

MCA claims that they now have thousands of customers earning a part time or full-time income from home by referring people to join Motor Club.

If you're not familiar with how MLM works, this is how it looks like:

​Basically, you're being paid commission by recruiting people into the system. Your downlines (people you referred) can also recruit people under them. You'll also be compensated for the sales your downlines generate.

So this forms a triangular structure which looks like a pyramid.

If the only way for members to make money with the system is by recruiting people without providing and real products or services, the system becomes a pyramid scheme.

Let's take a look at Motor Club of America's compensation plan and see if it's a pyramid scheme...

Ok, the compensation plan for Motor Club of America is a lot simpler than many other MLM companies which is a good thing.

Basically, you'll earn $80 for every referral who joins MCA under you. And the commission per referral increases if you can recruit more members within a week.

For example, if you're able to recruit 5 members within a week, your commission per referral becomes $82. If you can get 10 members, your commission becomes $84 per referral. This goes on and on until a maximum of $90 per referral.

So far, all these are called "Direct Commissions". There's another thing called "Override Commissions", which basically means the money you make when your referrals make their own sales.

Generation 2 means your direct downlines that you refer into the system. You can earn $6 from every sale your Generation 2 referrals make.

For Generation 3 & 4, they are the referrals of your referrals. But they're still considered your downlines.

You'll earn $1.32 plus a $0.66/month commission for every sale your Generation 3 & 4 downlines make.

And the compensation plan ends here. Generation 5 onward are none of your business.

This means that the most profitable strategy to make money with MCA is still recruiting more and more people every single week.

To be honest, this is a very simple compensation plan as compared to some other binary compensation plans or even more complicated ones.

But, have you recognized a problem with MCA's compensation plan?

This compensation plan is solely focusing on recruiting members into the system despite they are selling their membership products & services at the same time.

This is also why some people call this a pyramid scheme because it has a little bit of pyramid scheme characteristics.

If you've watched the illustration video above, you'll see that they keep emphasizing on the amount of training and resources they will provide you to help you run the business.

Some of the ways for you to promote MCA include:

• Facebook Ads
• Social Media
• YouTube
• Text Messages
• Word of mouth, etc...

So if you want to promote MCA, be prepared to do some online marketing stuff on your own because MCA provides very little help regarding the online marketing part.

Unless you're already an experienced internet marketer, you'll have a really hard time to figure things out.

Motor Club of America was founded back in 1926. Over the years, the company has undergone quite a lot of changes and improvements including their services, discounts and membership levels.

They have 90+ years of experience in this industry and this definitely shows something about this company.

If it is an outright pyramid scheme or scam as claimed by many other reviews, it wouldn't have survived for almost a century. Make sense?

For example, Digital Altitude is a pyramid scheme which was launched in the year 2015/2016.

But it was a clear pyramid scheme in disguise and now it is undergoing lawsuit of shutting down as ordered by FTC.

If MCA is also a pyramid scheme, it should be shut down long long time ago.

Another advantage of Motor Club of America is that it has grown to become one of the largest roadside assistance companies in the US & Canada in terms of per member capita.

There are no stats to support this though. It's claimed by MCA themselves.

Motor Club of America only operates in the United States and Canada. All the services and business opportunities are also only available in these 2 countries.

For a very long time, Motor Club of America didn't have an official website.

They had been using the TVCMatrix website to recruit people for a long time and there really isn't much information on this website.

As you can see, there's no Privacy Policy page, Disclaimer page or any Legal pages on this website. In fact, this is a poorly developed and unprofessional website.

What's even worse is that there are A LOT of fake official MCA websites that are acting as their main website.

Take a look at these websites:

• http://www.mcamotorclubofamerica.com/

Some of these are really professional-looking and seem like a MCA official website.

However, these are just websites set up by MCA's Independent Associates (MCA members who are promoting MCA).

They even use MCA's name and logo directly on their websites which can misled people to believe them to be the official website.

The only way to identify this is by looking at their disclaimer at the bottom of their websites which says that these websites are set up by "Independent Associates of MCA".

The good thing is that Motor Club of America finally got their own official website here.

​Motor Club of America offers very little training, help and support to help you run your MLM business with them.

If you've watched the MCA introduction video I embedded above, you'll see that they only offer 3 types of resources:

1. MCA Private Facebook Group
2. Conference Call
3. Webinar

They keep emphasizing that they have very comprehensive training to help you with your business but in reality, there's isn't any proper step-by-step training in place.

Normally, MLM companies will provide an income disclosure statement to show the average earning for different ranks in the MLM system.

Below is an income disclosure statement example from Usana Health Sciences, another MLM company:

However, Motor Club of America doesn't have such as thing as income disclosure.

What this means is that MCA probably doesn't have a very strong and clear MLM structure within their company and not many people are making the money they promised.

This is just a minor point I want to add.

I've found an article which lists the top 10 roadside assistance service of 2018. To my surprise, MCA being one of the largest company in this industry was nowhere to be found in the list.

I don't think Motor Club of America is a pyramid scheme because if it is, it wouldn't have survived till today.

However, MCA does have a little bit of pyramid scheme characteristics because its main way of making money is to keep recruiting people into the system to make more money. So, the exact answer is kinda blur.

That's also why some people claim it's an outright illegal pyramid scheme.

My opinion is if it's illegal, it wouldn't be in business anymore.

Nevertheless, MCA is indeed a good roadside assistance service company which offers quality plans and support.

You can become a customer of MCA if you're an American or Canadian but I definitely won't recommend you to take part in their MLM business opportunity.

The reason is simple...

The MLM business opportunity offered by MCA is not that reliable. They don't even have an Income Disclosure Statement to show. And the training provided by MCA is just too limited.

It's already very hard to achieve success with MLM business model in the first place. MCA is making it worse by having very limited resources for their Associates.
