What is Origami Owl?

Origami Owl is a new MLM or multi-level marketing company that allows you buy and sell custom, fashionable, and meaningful jewelry pieces.

The company claims that they have thousands of Independent Designers (their members who signed up for the opportunity) hosting jewelry parties (or Jewelry Bars, as they are aptly called). These events give people a chance to look at what Origami Owl has to offer.

The company is based out in Chandler, AZ and was founded by 14 year old teenager Isabella Weems in 2010. Since 2013, the company’s generated $250 million in revenue and maintains a B+ rating on their BBB or Better Business Bureau profile.

Origami Owl Jewelry Product Line

Origami Owl has a lot of cool pieces of jewelry under different categories, namely

Origami Owl Review - Products

Origami Owl Review - Products

  • Charms – All charms are priced at $6 with many different designs to choose from
  • Living Lockets – These are more expensive and cost anywhere between $28 and $44
  • Chains – Price ranges are anywhere between $12 and $40 for the higher end designs
  • Watches – These products cost over $100, and they do look pretty cool if you ask me
  • Necklaces – These are the same quality as chains and cost anywhere between $20 and $44
  • Rings – Like the other products, they are slightly more expensive sitting at a price of $20 minimum and as high as $44
  • Earrings – These are affordable and nice-looking, and the pricing is decent for a pair ($24 to $32)

Collections

They also have different collections of jewelries to choose from:

  • Bridal
  • Fall/Winter
  • Harry Potter
  • Wizard of Oz
  • Birthstones
  • Inscriptions

There's definitely a lot to choose from here!

Does The Product Work?

Well, I couldn’t find any review directly about their products which means one of two things:

  • The products are decent enough that it looks okay. There are no reports of jewelries losing their luster and shine, and no reports of easily broken pieces
  • The products do their job at being jewelry pieces, and that is to accentuate any attire.

You’ll find some positive reviews on YouTube, like this one:

Either way, their product quality doesn’t seem to be an issue. Their BBB profile have complaints about customer service and how some customers received the wrong products.

Origami Owl Jewelry Compensation Plan

Origami Owl doesn’t have any unique compensation plan and it’s pretty much the same as any other MLM company out there.

Here’s a short video that explains the plan in great detail.

Meanwhile, here’s a summary of the important parts of that video.

Retail Sales

Commissions are high but because the products are cheap, you’re most likely going to earn a few bucks here and there.

The commission rate is 50% for charms, dangels, and plates, while it’s 30% for chains, tags, and lockets.

Residual Commissions

You make most of your money from residual commissions. This is done through a unilevel structure and looks a lot like this:

You earn a percentage of their income at members per level. For instance, at the second rank, you earn 9% on level 1 and 5% on level 2 and so on.

Affiliate Ranks

Affiliate ranks vary in percentages, and you basically increase your income as you move up in rank. To get promoted to the next rank, you’ll need to hit certain goals for your current level.

For example, you’ll need to generate a personal volume of 250, recruit one person, and generate 500 group sales to move up in rank.

Origami Owl Ugly Truths Revealed!

#1 Low Income

Based on their income disclosure statement for 2017, around 93% of their members earned less than $82 for the year, and 99% make less than $100 per month.

To make serious money on their program, you’d have to generate a lot of sales and recruit a lot of members.

Based on their numbers, only 22 people have made it to the highest rankings and averaged $100,000 for the year.

That’s about a 0.11% of all people who joined. To put it in perspective, that’s 1 out of every 1000 members!

#2 Requires Recruitment and Sales

The low success rate is attributed to the large requirement of having to recruit a lot of people to increase your income.

Now, this isn’t a pyramid scheme just because there’s a lot of recruitment going on. Origami Owl actually has products and other incentives tied in to the recruitment. Recruitment is not your ONLY MEANS of making money from the program.

What I Like About Origami Owl?

#1 High Commissions

One thing that I do like about their program is that their commissions are high enough that it actually is a good idea to sell the products.

The products are somewhat decent from the reviews that I watched, so I don’t think it’d be difficult to sell these.

Just don’t expect to get a full-time income from their program.

Is Origami Owl a Scam?

Origami Owl Jewelry is a legitimate MLM Company that provides a sub-par income opportunity.

Their income disclosure statement from 2017 shows that no one’s earned any real money from their program, so at best, it’s just something to get you a few extra bucks every month.

It’s not a program to quit your day job over, so do more research about their company if you do want to invest some time and money on their program.

How I Make a Living Online?

I'm not a fan of MLM, not because it's illegal or not profitable, but because of all the restrictions and the expensive costs involved.

Instead, Affiliate Marketing is my top recommended business model for anyone to make money online.

The reason is simple...

  • You don't have to recruit anyone to make money
  • You have the freedom to promote any products you want and not being restricted to only promote the products from one MLM company
  • It's Free to get started

In fact, with affiliate marketing...

I've personally created a 4-Figure Monthly Passive Income Stream and become financially independent at just 21 years old without any College degree or working experience!

Through my own hard work, I went from a broke restaurant waiter to living my dream laptop lifestyle in less than a year's time...
