Opinion Outpost Review – An Okay Survey Site With A Surprise!

Welcome to my Opinion Outpost review!

When I was doing my research on this survey site, I was pretty much surprised by two things.

One, how there was nothing special about their program.

Two, how no one's ever had any real complaints about them that I could make note of.

I am talking about Opinion Outpost, of course.

First of all, I must Congratulate you for taking your time to do your own research before buying into any "seemingly good" product.

That's the way to avoid scams and find the legitimate way to make money online!

Let me be completely transparent with you, I'm not associated with Opinion Outpost in any form.

So, rest assured that I'm not here to pitch or sell anything to you.

Instead, I'm here to reveal what makes this survey site somewhat decent based on my standards, and what they have in store for their users.

So read through all of my Opinion Outpost review to find out what their surprise is.

Opinion Outpost Review Summary

Best For:  People who don't find answering surveys boring and who're okay with earning a few bucks each week.

Opinion Outpost Review Image Summary

Summary:  Opinion Outpost is a market research company that utilizes paid surveys to gather data for its clients. It's a somewhat decent survey site that doesn't offer anything out of the ordinary. And like most survey sites that I've reviewed, I don't think this is worth your time at all. They have issues with their survey qualifications and limited availability of their surveys, which is common among all survey sites. These hinder you from making enough money to make it worth your while. However, if you don't mind these issues, then it's definitely worth checking out.

What is Opinion Outpost?

Opinion Outpost is a market research company that acts as a paid survey intermediary. Through their program, they’re able to pay people like me and you to take their surveys online.

Little is known about its owners but they were founded on 2009, so I’d say they’re about to hit their 10th year this year.

How Does Opinion Outpost Work?

Whenever huge corporations want consumer opinion about their products or services, they hire companies like Opinion Outpost to do market research for them.

Global Test Market Homepage

Opinion Outpost then uses certain criteria to get the right people from their huge list of members to share their opinions.

Once the surveys are completed, Outpost Opinion sends these back to the company and gets paid. The members who took these surveys also get paid.

Inside Opinion Outpost

Opinion Outpost works just like any other survey website with no added features.

Because they’re a market research company, you’ll notice that they’ll ask for a lot of information about yourself upon signup.

This is standard because they want to provide you with surveys that you qualify for, as well as gather your information to be sold to their clients.

Vindale Research, Pinecone Research, and Global Test Market are also paid survey intermediaries / market research companies that also do this.

Opinion Outpost And Their Rewards

One of the best things that I immediately noticed about Opinion Outpost was how specific their rewards were and how they were always something that their users are looking for.

Opinion Outpost Rewards

Their rewards

I also noticed that they probably have the lowest cash payout threshold in the industry. You can cash out your earnings for as little as $10 or about 100 points.

What Are Their Rewards?

  1. PayPal payments - with only 100 points (worth $10/£5), you can request a PayPal payment be made to your account. Only verified PayPal accounts will qualify for payment.
  2. Amazon e-vouchers - only 50 points ($5.00) is required to request an Amazon e-gift code.
  3. iTunes gift cards - with 50 points ($5.00) sitting in your account, you can request an iTunes gift card.
  4. American Red Cross donations - Opinion Outpost partnered with the American Red Cross to provide you with a charitable option to donate your points to.
  5. Quarterly Sweepstakes – You can win as much as $10,000 per quarter in their sweepstakes. You can turn in your points for sweepstakes entries too. If you’re lucky, you have a chance to win $40,000 in a year.
  6. Refer Your Friends to Earn More – Their referral program allows you to earn $1.00 every time you refer a friend and if they complete a survey.

How Do You Sign Up for Opinion Outpost?

Signing up for Opinion Outpost is free. All you need is a working email and you can start to create your account.

Once your account is created, you’ll need to complete a profile form in the members’ area where they’ll need your age, location, household information, and so on.

Opinion Outpost Signup

Once you complete this demographic survey, you can start answering the surveys that they send your way.

However, it’s worth mentioning that only US Residents are eligible for registration on their site.

How Much Can You Make With Opinion Outpost?

The amount you can potentially earn on Opinion Outpost depends on the time and effort that you spend on it.

The more surveys you take, the more you can earn.

On their site, 1 point is worth 10 cents, which is pretty straightforward compared to other survey and GPT (Get Paid To) sites.

On average, a 5-minute survey earns you about 5 Opinion Points or $0.50. In an hour, that puts you at about $6.00.

Sometimes that average may be higher, and sometimes lower. Again this depends on the available surveys on hand.

Who's Opinion Outpost For?

Opinion Outpost is a decent survey site, so I would say that it’s something worth looking into if:

  1. You don’t find the task of filling out surveys boring and tedious
  2. You are willing to spend an hour or so to earn less than minimum wage online
  3. You are comfortable with sharing your demographic information to a company, only to be shared to other bigger companies.

Opinion Outpost Ugly Truths Revealed!

#1 – You Don’t Always Qualify For Surveys

You’re going to spend at about 30 minutes answering a pre-qualification questionnaire, but this doesn’t mean that you’re going to qualify for all the actual surveys on their site.

Granted, this is not a problem that’s specific only to Opinion Outpost. Most survey companies will always have issues with survey qualifications, and it’s pretty normal.

I am only bringing this up because it’s actually a limiting factor to your earning potential.

Like I showed you above, you could be earning $6.00 on an hourly average, but that’s assuming that you qualify for all the surveys that are listed.

#2 – Fewer Surveys Are Available

On top of the survey qualification issue, another factor that limits the amount of money you could earn is their survey availability.

Again, this is a common problem in most survey and GPT sites, and some of them are worse than Opinion Outpost.

Remember that hourly average?

Sometimes, that’s all you could be earning in a week because of the availability of these surveys.

#3 – Getting Spammed By Other Companies

Because you basically sold your contact information to these companies, don’t be surprised to receive spam emails from them every couple of hours.

What I Like About Opinion Outpost?

#1 – Low Minimum Payout Threshold!

Their $10 minimum is probably the most attractive thing on their program.

The $5 minimum for gift cards is also excellent, and far more enticing than any other survey site out there.

Why did I point this out?

Because it doesn’t make you feel like you’ve waited forever to get your rewards.

Their point-conversion system is very straightforward, and you can easily compute for the amount of cash you’re going to make on each survey.

Any time a survey site makes something easy and accessible, I always make sure to mention it on their respective reviews.

Is Opinion Outpost A Scam?

Opinion Outpost is a legitimate market research company with a paid survey program for its data gathering procedures.

And like most survey sites that I’ve reviewed, I don’t think I can recommend their program to anyone.

The income potential for their site is quite low because of the survey qualification issues and the limited availability of their surveys.

Again, this is a common dilemma faced by companies like Opinion Outpost and it’s not something I would hold against them.

If you feel like it’s fine for you to make a buck or two every week, then their program is worth checking out.

Otherwise, if you’re looking to fund your next vacation using Opinion Outpost, well, you might be disappointed.
