Let me be completely transparent with you, I'm not associated with LifePoints in any form.

So, rest assured that I'm not here to pitch or sell anything to you.

What is LifePoints?

LifePoints is a survey site that’s been around for quite some time now, but don’t let its age fool you as this site already has 5 million users and counting.

How’s that possible you ask? Well, LifePoints is a combination of two older platforms namely Lightspeed and MySurvey. Most of their users were now brought on to LifePoints, hence the number of people signed up for it.

If you’re still doubting that claim, don’t worry. One of the companies, Lightspeed, has been around since the 1940s and is one of the oldest market research companies in the world. They also have multiple clientele from around the world.

As far as we’re concerned, they’re super legitimate. In the next section, we’ll talk about their program in detail.

Inside LifePoints

LifePoints tags you as a panelist, where you get to participate in their market research activities. These activities are requests from their clients in the hopes of improving their products and/or services.

There are three ways to make money from LifePoints:

  • Surveys

  • Tracking Consumer Behavior

  • Product Testing

We’ll explain all of this down below.

As you complete these tasks, you earn points. Earn enough points and you’ll be able to exchange them for nice rewards.

How Do They Make Money?

So how does a company like LifePoints make money, you ask? Well, their clients simply pay them to use their platform to generate feedback from their consumers.

LifePoints does not take any money from their members, including you.

When LifePoints gets paid by their clients, a portion of that is split between the members who did the said task. For example, LifePoints could get paid $1,000 for a survey that requires 1000 participants. They take out a portion of that, let’s say $250, and divide it between the 1000 members.

Note, that this is just an estimate and we don’t know how they compute for member earnings. We’re just showing you how things are done in their industry.

Signing Up

It’s easy to sign up for an account with LifePoints. The only requirement is that you need to be at least 14 years old.

You’ll need to fill in some basic information such as name, age, gender, and other demographic info. This will allow LifePoints to point you to the best surveys that match your demographic.

Once that’s done, you’ll be asked to confirm your email address. You’ll get a confirmation email sent within the next 10 minutes or so.

After you do that, you should be able to log in to your account and earn your first 10 points.

How To Earn Points?

The name of the game is to earn points, hence their name LifePoints. The more tasks you complete, the more points you collect. The earning potential greatly varies between tasks, with some having you earn a minuscule amount of 20 points to a whopping 100 points.

You’ll be able to see how much points you’ve earned on your member dashboard.

And now we move on to the three tasks that you need to do to start earning points.

Like the name of the platform suggests, the way you earn money and rewards is by collecting “lifepoints”. The more tasks you complete, the more lifepoints you’ll collect.

The earning potential for each task varies. In general, you will gain between 20 and 100 points every time you complete a task, depending on how long it takes.

On your account dashboard, you’ll be able to see how many points you have collected. You also select new tasks through the dashboard — the platform is really clear and simple, so you’ll have no problem finding and selecting new tasks.

There are three types of tasks you can complete to earn lifepoints:

Surveys

The most common task found on LifePoints is doing surveys. These surveys cover different topics, ranging from daily life to health to shopping.

Note that not all panelists will be able to access the same surveys. These are distributed based on demographics. So if you are able to see a survey every time you log in, that means that the survey is fit for your profile.

The average time it takes for you to complete these surveys is 10 minutes, which isn’t that long. We’ve seen longer surveys lasting for about 45 minutes or more.

Diaries

Diaries are the second way to make money from LifePoints. This is merely you tracking consumer behavior and noting them in diary entries. You use the Diary Feature of LifePoints to tell companies about your experience with said company.

Think of it as a mystery shopper program. You record the time it takes you to line up for something or the time it takes for you to get your order completed. Other tasks include staff hospitality, customer service, and so on.

Product Testing

LifePoints will have you testing products made by their clients. You just select the products you want to test found on your member dashboard. They send the products your way (for free) and you give them your honest feedback.

You will be asked to fill in a standard questionnaire developed by LifePoints themselves to gauge customer feedback.

How To Make Money from LifePoints?

The earning potential for LifePoints varies greatly, depending on the points you earn and the amount you earn in a day.

There’s no easy way to say this but you can’t do this full-time. And LifePoints won’t get your hopes up for it either.

At most, you’re earning an extra $100 a month, which is kind of nice to have even in this pandemic we’re in.

LifePoints Redemption Options

Your points are converted into different rewards, as offered by LifePoints.

  1. Gift Cards need 550 points in order to be converted to a $5 e-gift card. You’re looking at a conversion of 0.9 cents per point.

  2. PayPal vouchers needs 1,200 points. This puts you at about $0.83 per point when you redeem it for cash. Note that PayPal might also take deductions from your earnings.

  3. Donations also need 500 points to cash out $5. This allows you to transfer your earnings to a charity of your choice.

Who's LifePoints For?

LifePoints is meant for people who don’t mind doing all of the tasks for a minimum amount of money. This will never guarantee you a full-time income, and LifePoints won’t even promise you that.

LifePoints Ugly Truths Revealed!

#1 No Referral System

Referrals are one way to make some quick money, but unfortunately, LifePoints doesn’t have that. Majority of the survey sites that we’ve looked at always had referral programs. It’s a disappointment if you ask me.

#2 Low Income Potential

We’ll say this again. This program will not get you a full-time income. You’re earning a few hundred bucks a month, at best. And it’s not going to get you a full-time income.

#3 Cancelled Accounts

LifePoints Review - Account Shut Down

A few users reported their accounts having been cancelled for unknown reasons. But one thing we could assume is that these accounts were from the two other platforms and disappeared when the merge appeared.

What I Like About LifePoints?

#1 Lots of Surveys Available

When we tried to log in to our dashboard, we were quite surprised to find a lot of available surveys. We saw about at least 5 surveys available every different day we logged in, so you have a lot of chances to earn.

#2 Short Surveys

10-minute surveys are the longest you’ll take in LifePoints, which is shorter than the average survey times of other survey companies. We’ve seen 45-minute surveys from other sites and we’ve seen a few that last longer than that.

Is LifePoints a Scam?

LifePoints is a legitimate survey site and we don’t have any reason to think otherwise. The program’s been around for quite some time, considering that one of its predecessors has been around since the 1940s.

But if you’re looking for a full-time income, this program may not be for you. The income potential is quite low, and that’s normal in the industry.

They also lack a referral program, which could’ve been a great way to make money as well.

But if you just want to try it, there’s no harm in doing so. You might even make a few dollars here and there.
