Is Zurvita a Scam? (No, but the company is not doing well…)

Welcome to my Zurvita review!

Chances are, you've been approached by someone in Zurvita telling you that you can live a healthy lifestyle while making good money at the same time.

So, is Zurvita a scam?

Let me tell you upfront, it's NOT a scam. Zurvita is a legitimate Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) business selling nutritional drinks.

Since it's a legit business, should I join Zurvita and give it a shot?

That's what we'll be going through in this Zurvita review. Let's begin...

Zurvita is a MLM company with the mission of providing healthy lifestyle for people of all ages and enjoy a "higher way of life". That's their mission statement.

Let's understand a little bit more about the background of Zurvita, shall we?

Zurvita was founded by Mark Jarvis and Tracy Jarvis in 2008.

Both of them have achieved tremendous success in direct selling prior to creating Zurvita.

This is actually a pretty good sign about this company because the founders themselves have achieved success in network marketing. Which means they should be more qualified to form their own MLM company that can really help people to achieve success as well.

Basically, Zurvita produces its own unique nutritional products which are not found anywhere in the market. (I'll explain the rationale in the next section)

Their signature product is called "Zeal for Life". It's a healthy drink made by their own patented manufacturing process and it costs around $2 per bottle.

They claim that this drink can help you feel happier, more energetic and help you improve your overall health.

So you can purchase their products as customers and/or make money by selling their products as Independent Consultant (IC).

If you've read some other reviews about Zurvita, you'll probably realize that majority of them only scratch on the surface of that their products are really about.

I feel that it's necessary for you to understand why Zurvita's products are different.

After extensive research and development, they've found a unique source of nutrients that many people are not aware of.

As you can see in the video above, rice bran actually contains a lot of nutrition but we usually discard rice bran after the rice milling process because we didn't know how to stabilize the rice bran.

Scientists behind Zurvita have found a way to stabilize the rice bran and turn it into a nutritious ingredient. And this rice bran stabilization process is actually patented.

On top of the nutritious rice bran, they've also added in other nutritious ingredients in their healthy Zeal drink, such as aloe vera, turmeric, acai berries, noni and other natural ingredients.

So they've applied this technology to all other products Zurvita has to offer, including Zurvita's protein powder and their weight loss products.

So far so good about Zurvita, right?

Let's take a closer look at their products...

Zurvita has a really simple product line unlike many other MLM companies which have lots and lots of products in different categories. They just make everything more and more confusing.

Here are the effects that Zurvita products can potentially bring to you:

• Optimize health
• Slow aging process
• Powerful nutritional components make you feel vibrant, energetic and ready to live a life

These may sound very vague and too good to be true. But studies have shown that Zurvita products really work.

The screenshot above is taken from this clinical research. It proves that one's quality of life can really be improved by consuming Zurvita products. This is a pretty good news for them.

Like I've mentioned earlier on, Zeal or Life is their signature health drink. All you need to do to consume it is to add water and shake it.

If you want to add more taste, you can even add juice. But NO hot beverages because the heat will destroy some of the necessary nutrients.

Many people feel results of being more energetic in the first 20 minutes after drinking it.

Zeal is currently available in Classic and Vegan formula.

By the way, I didn't mention any prices here because the pricing system is a bit complicated. There are various combo and packages and the price sole depend on which package you buy.

Just know that one bottle of Zeal is around $2.

This is the package you need if you want to become an Independent Consultant (IC) of Zurvita and sell these health products to other people.

This $39.95 is also known as your "Enrollment fee". Then you'll be given this package to guide you on how to get started with your business with Zurvita.

Basically, you'll earn a 20% commission for all the product you sell and 5% commission for all the products sold by your downlines.

The more people you can recruit to your team, the more money you can potentially make because you're leveraging the power of a team.

However, the number of downline levels you can earn commission from is based on your current rank in the company:

As you can see from the screenshot above, the vertical columns represent your rank and the horizontal rows represent the number of levels you can earn commission from.

The higher your rank, the more levels you can earn commission from. These commissions from your downlines are called "Overrides".

According to the video demonstration, you Zurvita business can be classified into 3 phases...

The first 30 days is your "Instant gratification" phase where you should focus on:

1. Getting customers as much customers
2. Enrolling 2 Like-minded Business Partners
3. Duplicate the process

Once you get 3 customers, all your business costs will be waived for the following month.

When that happens, you're also eligible for Team Bonus!

This is when your team starts to grow and have more and more downlines on your left and right. When certain amount of "Team Business Volume" is met (meaning selling a certain amount of products), a bonus will be credited to your Zurvita account.

On top of that, if you trigger your team bonus within your first 30 days, you'll be rewarded with a $320 Team All-Start Bonus.

The bigger your team grows, the more bonus you can earn.

Finally, as you climb up their ranks, you'll eventually have a team that is big enough to automate your business. That's when you start to earn true residual income without having to work.

But definitely, this takes a lot of time and effort.

Below are the 4 main types of support you'll get once you join Zurvita...

Just like any other MLM, the first and most direct support is from your upline (the person who introduced you into this business).

However, this could lead to the problem of "blind leading the blind" since your sponsor may be your friend who don't know much about selling as well.

The first thing you'll be told to do when you join Zurvita is to come out with a list of 100 people whom you want to connect with and sell Zurvita products to.

This is really the most traditional way to run network marketing business. And it has been proven to be ineffective.

Zurvita has its own Virtual Office where you can access your own back office and all the digital resources available for your business.

But I don't understand why this costs another $34.95.

With the $34.95, you're also provided with a personal website for you to share your business with other people.

When people purchase any of Zurvita's product via your website, you'll earn commission.

However, you need to know that this strategy is ineffective as well UNLESS you have experience in internet marketing.

This so-called "personal website" they provide you is definitely a duplicated website. The problem with duplicated website is that you're not going to be ranked in Google.

So the only way for you to drive traffic and collect leads is via paid traffic methods.

If you have no experience in internet marketing, you're definitely going to lose money in paid traffic and get very poor result.

Among all the resources Zurvita provides you, I think this mobile App is the most effective.

Zurvita has their own App called ZMobile. In this App, you can easily track and follow-up with your prospects.

For example, you can easily send SMS or share videos with others, access training videos, traffic your statistics, etc...

Direct Selling Association is an organization that regulates Direct Selling companies. They have strict rules in place to ensure its members obey the laws and have certain standard.

It's not easy to to accepted into the DSA. Normally, it takes months or years to be approved.

So the fact that Zurvita is a member of DSA shows that this company is definitely legit and have certain standards.

Due to their unique and patented products and manufacturing process, they have little or no competition in the exact same niche.

This has allowed Zurvita to experience an explosive growth over the past few years.

Between 2011 and 2014 alone, Zurvita's revenue grew from $3 million to $69 million. And in 2016, they achieved a milestone by reaching 100 million in revenue!

This requires no further explanation. I've provided you with all the facts and stats to show you that Zurvita's products are not just unique but clinically proven.

This is one of my favorite parts.

Most MLM requires members to continue paying a monthly recurring, especially for the Distributors. You need to keep paying in order to be qualified for commission.

I really hate this kind of system because a lot of people just got into bigger and bigger debt instead of improving their financial situation. I'm sure you can agree with me on this.

Zurvita has their own autoship system which means you can continue getting the products you want every month. And the fee will just be automatically deducted from your account.

However, they make this optional. You purchase products only if you need it. I like this kind of system.

This is a very common problem with many MLM companies.

Let's take a look at their Income Disclosure Statement (IDS). Most of the time, a company's IDS will show a lot about the income potential.

By the way, I've seen companies without an IDS. Stay away from those companies if you encounter them.

As you can see from the screenshot, 11.6% of all consultants are making an average of $136 per year and 78.1% of all consultants are making an average of $618 per year. 

If you add those two categories together, you'll get that around 90% of all Independent Consultants of Zurvita earn less than an average of $700 per year.

To be completely honest, $700 per year is really little.

BUT, if you compare this to other MLM companies, I would say Zurvita is a lot better. And unlike other companies, you don't have to spend money every month for Zurvita. That's already a pretty darn good thing.

Another good thing about Zurvita is that it is a public listed company. However, that's also one of its weakness.

Just take a look at the stock price of Zurvita from 2009 to 2018...

When Zurvita first went IPO, its share was almost 1.5 dollar per point. But as you can see from the screenshot, it's now down to less than 20 cents.

In fact, it experienced a huge drop in 2010, not long after its IPO.

So, what does this mean?

Despite Zurvita may  experience explosive growth in terms of revenue over the years, the perceived value of this company is actually pretty low.

My concern is that what if Zurvita shuts down one day?

Your whole business will be gone and you have to start from zero once again.

That's also why I prefer Affiliate Marketing than MLM.

In affiliate marketing, you can build your own website and sell any products you like. No one can take your "money making machine" away from you.

Even if one product is no longer available, you can still promote hundred of thousands of products in the market.

By the way, let's compare Zurvita with another MLM company, USANA Health Sciences:

This kind of chart shows that this company is performing really well. The price at the time when this review is written is $92.65.

Compare it to Zurvita, 20 cents?! I'm really worried about Zurvita...

What do I mean by hard to join?

Normally, if you want to join a MLM company, you have to be sponsored by one of their existing Distributors.

If you don't have a Distributor, what they normally do is to help you find a Distributor nearby you to help you out and join under him/her.

However, in Zurvita, there isn't such an option to help you find your nearest Distributor. This means that if you don't have a Distributor, you can't join them. Simple as that.

I was pretty shocked when I saw the global markets available for Zurvita.

There are only seven of them: United States, Australia, Canada, Dominican Republic, Hong Kong, Puerto Rico & Singapore.

A lot of major MLM companies all have at least more than 10 markets. Many of them have more than 20 and some 30.

With just 7 markets, it shows that Zurvita is probably not doing very well. And it is confirmed by its stock price.

Like I've said, Zurvita is NOT a scam! It is a totally legitimate MLM company.

They have their own unique products and even have their own patent. This is unlike those pyramid scheme where all you need to do is to recruit people.

Despite having such great products, their company is really not performing well.

Like you've just seen in the last part, Zurvita's stock price is really worrying. I don't think you want to join a company that is not making money, right?

That's why my recommendation for you is to stay away from Zurvita although it's a legit company.

I'm not a fan of MLM, not because it's illegal or not profitable, but because of all the restrictions and the expensive costs involved.

Instead, Affiliate Marketing is my top recommended business model for anyone to make money online.
