Welcome to my Vantel Pearls review!
This is probably one of the most unique MLM opportunities that we’ve ever had to review for Smart Affiliate Success, and we’re just riddled with curiosity as to how this program works.
Would you believe it if we told you that there was a MLM company for pearls? We found it hard to believe too.
Check out Vantel Pearls and what they have to offer.
First of all, I must Congratulate you for taking your time to do your own research before buying into any "seemingly good" product.
That's the way to avoid scams and find the legitimate way to make money online!
Let me be completely transparent with you, I'm not associated with Vantel Pearls in any form.
So, rest assured that I'm not here to pitch or sell anything to you.
Instead, I'm here to reveal what this unique MLM is all about and what the catch is...
Vantel Pearls Review Summary
Product Name: Vantel Pearls
Founder: Joan Hartel Cabral
Product Type: Jewelry Selling MLM
Price: $99 for membership
Best For: People who can market jewelry and other accessories.
Summary: Vantel Pearls is a unique MLM opportunity that markets pearl-based jewelry pieces. They've been around for more than 20 years, so they're legitimate. However, I don't recommend this program to anyone mostly because of its low income potential. There are several other reasons why I don't recommend this program to anyone, and you'll see them in this article.
What is Vantel Pearls?
Vantel Pearls is a MLM or multi-level marketing company that was founded in 1990 by Joan Hartel Cabral. They are currently operating in Massachusetts, USA.
The company provides a MLM opportunity by selling pearl jewelry and other pearl-related products.
You read that right.
One of the most unique things about their products is that some of them will also include a sealed oyster for a customer to open. This oyster will contain a pearl that will be placed on a jewelry piece of their choosing or that they bought along with the oyster pearls.
The MLM opportunity is their main avenue for selling and promoting the products, and not so much on recruiting people.
Vantel Pearls Product Line
Vantel Pearls offers a variety of pearl-based jewelry products such as:
- cage necklaces
- chains and extenders
- bridal jewelry
- wine stoppers
The jewelry can be fully made, or they can also include a jewelry piece casing for a pearl along with a sealed oyster, as seen below:
This experience is fun for the customer and makes it exciting to fit the pearl into the jewelry piece. The full price and list of their products are on their website, so there’s no issue with transparency here.
The pearls come in different colors, ranging from a white cream shade to shades of peach and gold. There are also non-traditional pearl colors such as blue, lavender, pink, and even silver.
Vantel Pearls is a member of Direct Selling Association, for which MLM companies such as Herbalife and Young Living are a part of. This adds to the legitimacy of their operations and business opportunity. They are also a BBB-accredited organization.
Their pearls are imported from Japan and South Pacific.

Does The Product Work?
Unfortunately, there’s an issue with their products.
Some people have pointed out on Vantel Pearl’s Facebook page that the pearls are not Akoya Pearls, as advertised. Which means that the pearls are fake.
Just because we say it’s fake doesn’t mean it’s not real pearl either. We’re just saying that the Pearl advertised might only be freshwater cheap Chinese pearls, at best.
Check out the comments section below from their Facebook page and Glassdoor profile, and you be the judge:
How To Make Money With Vantel Pearls?
The only way for you to make money via Vantel Pearls is to sell their product. You sign up as a member for the program where you get to earn commission for every product you sell.
However, they require you to generate at least $500 in personal sales over a continuous 2-month period to qualify for a commission.
Buying a product or maintaining your personal volume doesn’t mean this quota requirement. You really have to sell the products to other people.
The minimum commission percentage is 25%, but it goes up as you rise up in ranking. We’ll be explaining their compensation plan in another section below.
How To Get Started With Vantel Pearls?
To become a member, you’ll have to pay a $99 joining fee and then reach the minimum quota to be able to earn commissions.
Vantel Pearls Compensation Plan
Their compensation plan follows a unilevel compensation structure.
1. Vantel Pearls Commision
To receive commissions, you need to sell at least $500 every two-month period. As mentioned earlier, purchasing products does not count towards this quota.
2. Retail Commissions
Commissions are awarded based on your rank.
- New Recruits – Earn 25% on sales to retail customers
- Consultant – Earn 25% on sales to retail customers, increases to 30% when sales reach $4000
- Star Consultant – Earn 29% on sales to retail customers, increases to 34% when sales reach $4000
- Leader – Earn 32% on sales to retail customers, increases to 37% when sales reach $4000
- Star Leader – Earn 33% on sales to retail customers, increases to 38% when sales reach $4000
- Director/Executive Director – Earn 34% on sales to retail customers, increases to 39% when sales reach $4000
- Star Executive Director – Earn 36% on sales to retail customers, increases to 41% when sales reach $4000
3. Residual Commission
Through their unilevel model structure, Vantel Pearls gives their members a chance to earn commissions on sales made by their downlines, ranging from 2% for Consultant ranks to 13% for Star Executive Directors.
4. Vantel Pearls Rank Bonus
A new rank promotion will get you a one-off bonus, and these ranks must be held for three months before the bonus is payable.
My guess is that you get demoted if you can’t keep up with their quotas for these ranks.
- Becoming a director earns a $500 bonus
- Becoming an Executive Director earns a $1000 bonus
- Becoming a Star Executive Director earns a $2000 bonus
5. Vantel Pearls Monthly sales Bonus
Members within particular ranks receive further bonuses based on their sales performance, but it appears to be available through higher ranks:
- An executive director selling $60,000 through their downline earns a $600 bonus
- A star executive director selling $80,000 through their donwline earns a $800 bonus

Vantel Pearls Ugly Truths Revealed!
#1 – Vantel Pearls and their Lawsuits!
Apparently, Vantel Pearls has had some legal issues over the last few years. In a forum for pearl information, they have been the topic of discussion two years ago.
The class action lawsuit against Vantel Pearls had something to do with their delayed shipments and their jewelry quality. Attorneys from ClassAction.Org were hired to look into the problem.
The main issue that’s being brought about by their members are:
- Shipments take several months to arrive
- Jewelry pieces break easily than normal
- Jewelry changes color
- Pearls are fake and displayed into the oysters
- Jewelry pieces aren’t delivered as promise. For example, Sterling Silver pieces aren’t exactly Sterling Silver when they arrive.
This issue, when in conjunction with the “fake pearls” issue, would make a lot of sense since they’ve already been called out for having fake products.
#2 - Low Earning Potential
Whenever we say low earning potential, we mean its potential to give you a full-time income consistently.
For Vantel Pearls, you’re not going to be able to do that unless you dedicate hours and hours of your day to market the products.
Granted, the residual downline income is still good, but you’re still going to rely a lot on sales.
#3 - High Quotas
Let’s talk about the quotas necessary for you to stay on their commission program. Whilst the program runs on a sales-driven environment, it’s still difficult to move up in ranks and to maintain membership within the commission program just because of the quota.
This is also one of the reason why the income potential is very low since you’re so reliant on your rank and sales to maintain consistency.
#4 - Expensive Products
The products range between $28 to $128, which might be difficult for members to move the products with that price tag.
On top of the expensive products, members might find it difficult to compete against box stores and other retailers that have higher quality products.
What I Like About Vantel Pearls?
Vantel Pearls is a unique MLM opportunity and despite being unbiased about this review, I don’t think there’s anything that I like about the program.
Is Vantel Pearls a Scam?
Vantel Pearls is a legitimate MLM company with a decent business opportunity. However, I cannot recommend this program to anyone looking for a source of full-time income.
They have certain issues with their product delivery and quality, so it may be difficult to sell their products to anyone. And to top it off, members are competing against big box retailers who offer better products at lower prices.
While there’s some form of potential to be had with Vantel Pearls, I don’t think that it’s worth the trouble of investing money on, even though it’s been around for more than 20 years now.
How I Make a Living Online?
I'm not a fan of MLM, not because it's illegal or not profitable, but because of all the restrictions and the expensive costs involved.
Instead, Affiliate Marketing is my top recommended business model for anyone to make money online.
The reason is simple...
- You don't have to recruit anyone to make money
- You have the freedom to promote any products you want and not being restricted to only promote the products from one MLM company
- It's Free to get started
In fact, with affiliate marketing...
I've personally created a 4-Figure Monthly Passive Income Stream and become financially independent at just 21 years old without any College degree or working experience!
Through my own hard work, I went from a broke restaurant waiter to living my dream laptop lifestyle in less than a year's time...
