Secret Email System Review – An Ebook With Expensive Upsells?!

Secret Email System is an ebook on list building authored by email marketer Matt Bacak. 

The book launched in September 2020 and promises to help you turn email marketing into a lucrative 7-figure business. 

Bacak calls this ebook a “business machine” because you only need 30 minutes of work to generate sales around the clock. There’s no need for you to create products or even take care of customer service. 

The sales video is your typical sad story about a man struggling with 80 hour work weeks until he came up and discovered how to generate income on autopilot. Now he’s living the luxury life and wants to share this system with you. 

We’re being sarcastic at this point, but it’s the truth. The sad story is nothing more than a marketing ploy. If it was actually true, it’d be depressing to find out a lot of reputable marketers actually started out this way. .

Who Is Matt Bacak? 

Secret Email System was written by Matt Bacak, a long-time email marketer who started back in 1997 when email marketing was born. 

His LinkedIn profile lists the following achievements: 

• Recognized by the Defense Department Official For Internet Marketing Leadership in 2006
• Stevie Award Finalist (Premier Business Award) in 2009
• Internet Marketer of the Year in 2010

He also has a YouTube channel that contains videos about him doing Internet marketing lectures uploaded as far back as 2006. 

But as of this writing, he’s about 500+ subscribers into his YouTube career, so we don’t really know what’s going on here. He might’ve stopped promoting his channel or people just didn’t really bother doing so.

How Much Is Secret Email System?

Secret Email System costs $5.60, then there are two upsells: 

1. Ultimate Email Marketing Package ($97) - Discounted to $47
2. The Secret Email Marketing Mastermind ($9.95 monthly)

Ultimate Email Marketing Package is a simple copy and paste program for effective email swipes that he uses. We don’t know how different these are from the list of swipes that he has for his bonuses. 

The second, The Secret Email Marketing Mastermind, is a secret Facebook group where you can get help and support for a monthly fee.

Secret Email System is a good start for email marketing, but it shouldn’t be your only resource for learning about email marketing. 

#1 Expensive Upsells

We don’t like the fact that the upsells are more expensive than the actual products. It’s like you’re only going through the ebook as a ruse for the main products, which are the upsells. 

#2 Emails Go in Spam!

Email marketing doesn’t really go well for a lot of people because they just go to the spam, or in other parts of the email system that doesn’t include PRIMARY folder. 

#3 This eBook Can't Teach You Everything

If you’re new to email marketing, you might want to go someplace else. This does not cover the basics of email marketing, but rather just gets you enough footing to generate income. But even then, the income is not guaranteed.

We don’t have anything to like about Secret Email System. 

Secret Email System is okay for an ebook priced at about $5. It’s not going to be the end-all, be-all of email marketing resources, but the bonuses are probably worth the money as well (the program claims they’re valued at about a thousand dollars). 

But this isn’t a resource if you’re completely new to email marketing because it doesn’t cover the basics. This program assumes that you already know a little about email marketing or that you already have an existing campaign. 

Either way, there are better programs out there.
