What is Blue Ocean Commerce?
Blue Ocean Commerce is a collection of ecommerce courses developed and sold by Nate Schmidt. The cheapest course in this bundle is $47 and the most expensive one is priced at a whopping $2,987.
Who Is Nate Schmidt?
Blue Ocean Commerce was created by Nate Schmidt. There’s not really a lot of information about Nate. You’ll find his YouTube channel with about 40,000 subscribers. He uploads a couple of videos every month, generating 10k views per. That’s impressive, if I may say so myself.
The videos are mostly educational in nature, mostly about ecommerce.
He says that he’s made millions from ecommerce, but we don’t have anything to prove or disprove his claims.
Inside Blue Ocean Commerce
There are three courses offered by Blue Ocean Commerce, all covering different topics. But the courses have different price tags.
Cheaper Ecommerce Course ($47)
The cheapest course costs $47 and is on a separate domain from Blue Ocean Commerce. It doesn’t really have a formal name. Instead, it’s only called Ecommerce Marketing 2020.
This is a short version of the B.O.S.S. course, and does not include a 1-on-1 training and support. You can also try this course for 7 days before paying the one-time fee.
We assume this might be a lengthy course, given there’s a 7-day trial.
Foolproof Facebook Ads ($497)
The second course offered by Nate through Blue Ocean Commerce is Foolproof Facebook Ads, which will cost you $497. The course is broken up into 10 modules, which will cover:

Minor Issue: Only Facebook Is Taught
We’re not really sold on Facebook being the only source of traffic being taught here, even though it’s the most popular traffic source right now utilized by Internet marketers.
For ecommerce, Facebook ads are definitely the way to go, but it’s not always the most practical route.
For new marketers, Facebook ads can be costly right from the start because of the trial and error involved. Targeting customers will have you spending a few extra dollars before you find the right configuration.
It might also give new marketers the misconception that all traffic sources online are paid. They’re better off with SEO to get free traffic for their website before they move on to paid traffic.
Who's Blue Ocean Commerce For?
Blue Ocean Commerce might be a good purchase for those who just want to start in e-commerce, but don’t get too hyped up. Read the next section first.
Blue Ocean Commerce Ugly Truths Revealed!
#1 Expensive
The courses are expensive when you put them all together. You’re more or less spending at least $3,000 to get all of them.
Now for aspiring e-commerce business owners, this might be a hefty investment. If you’re looking to spend that much money, you’re better off with these courses:
You can browse through our full list of recommended courses right here.
#2 Why Is It Broken Up?
What we don’t get here is why didn’t Nate just bundle them up together? Like it would make more sense if the two other courses were included for free when the B.O.S.S. course is purchased.
What I Like About Blue Ocean Commerce?
#1 Decent Training
Going through the list of modules, it appears that there’s some decent training here despite the price tag.
Nate did a really amazing job with the curricula, but then again, it could’ve been better with the pricing.
Is Blue Ocean Commerce a Scam?
All in all, Blue Ocean Commerce is a legitimate e-commerce training package, consisting of three individual courses. Sadly, you have to purchase them individually if you want to get all of them.
For the price tag, there are actually better courses out there if you’re willing to spend that much money.
