Because you're about to make a very important decision in your life. I'm sure you shouldn't take it lightly, right?
In fact, what I'm about to share with you will never be taught in schools and most people will never have the opportunity to learn this information for their entire life. I'm not exaggerating.
(Warning: The things that are being discussed in this post may not make sense to you at the start because it requires a "Paradigm Shift". But I urge you to keep an open-mind to absorb the information.)

A little bit about myself...
Before we get to the actual stuff, allow me to introduce myself!
I'm a 21-year-old high school graduate. I don't have a College degree, diploma or whatsoever qualifications. I'm not planning to get one either despite I managed to get into National University of Singapore, the top University in Asia.
I got into a course called Information System which a lot of people are competing to get into. But I'm not planning to study.

Should I go to College?
This is a very common question among many young adults. So, it's not your fault if you're struggling right now. A lot of people around the world have this problem as well.
My answer: It depends on your purpose in life. But my recommendation is that College is NOT necessary!
I know many of you are still searching for your purpose in life at this stage. That's why I'm here.
In fact, my dad has always been a hard working employee but he didn't have much time to spend with me and my brother. Because of that, from a very young age, I knew I didn't want to become an employee working under other people.
He's an accomplished pilot which requires a lot of professional knowledge and skills. His pay provides a decent living but he seldom has time for family or any other dreams he may have.
So I wondered, "What's the point of spending years in training to get a "high paying job" when you can't really enjoy life?"
As a young boy, I knew I was not going to let that happen when I grew up. But I didn't know what I wanted to do back then. All I knew was, no matter the career path I choose, I was going to have time for family.
(By the way, I am truly grateful for all the things my dad has done for us. The point I mean to stress here, is the fact that being a hard working employee has its disadvantages.)

The Turning Point
So I started looking for my purpose in life through reading books, online research, attending seminars and learning from other people's success stories.
Since then I've read a lot of life-changing books such as Robert Kiyosaki's Rich Dad Poor Dad and T. Harv Eker's Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. (I would highly recommend you to grab these 2 books if you haven't read them.)
Apart from reading, I've also attended quite a number of seminars such as Robert Kiyosaki's Business Investor Summit, Tony Robbins' Unleash The Power Within, Peng Joon's Internet Income Intensive and T. Harv Eker's Millionaire Mind Intensive. (You can click on the links to check out my major learning points from all these events. They're definitely worth your time!)

Anyway, my biggest takeaway of all is that I have a RICH mind and I'm thinking like the rich. In fact, there's a huge different between how rich people think and how poor and middle class think. They have totally different mindsets which result them to get totally different result.
So, what's your purpose?
I know most of you are still searching for the answer to that question. But let me just give you some advice here.
For those of you who already know what you want to do in life, for example you want to become a doctor, dentist, teacher, police, App developer, pilot, engineer, whatever, you should go to College because that's where you learn the necessary knowledge and skills for these professions.
I need to warn you though. If you want to pursue a certain profession like what I've mentioned, there's a high chance that you're going to be working for your whole life and never enjoy Financial Freedom.
Financial Freedom is the ability to live the lifestyle you desire without having to work, or rely on anyone else for money.
The reason is because most of the people in this category have the "Employee Mindset". Unless they are able to change their mindset by educating themselves (like the things I did), they will never reach that state of enjoying life without having to work.
Unfortunately, this is the norm. Most of the people around you are working all their lives, probably including your parents. Maybe they are still working hard to save money for your College tuition, right?
Do you really want to be in that state and follow the norm? Do you want to work your entire life?
(By the way, I'm not degrading anybody or any profession here. Everyone should be treated with equal respect. What I'm focusing on is their mindset. Whether they have the right mindset to be rich is another story.)
A Very Common Misconception!
A lot of people think that as long as they work hard in their working life, they can save enough money for their retirement and enjoy life after they retire.
But do you know anyone who actually have enough money to enjoy their retirement years? Probably very few.
A lot of the money goes to the government through various taxes. Many people today may not even have the HEALTH to enjoy it, right?
So what's the point?

EDUCATION
Traditional Education is DEAD!
I firmly believe that traditional school education is dead. If you listen to many of the successful people today, they'll tell you the exact same thing.
Traditional education is only effective for the industrial age because it trains people to become an employee.
Do you remember learning anything in school about how to manage your money and how to be rich? Nope.
Most of the time, schools teach you how to upgrade your skills so that you can become a better contributor to your company and your society. In return, you can earn a higher paycheck. This becomes the infamous vicious Rat Race!
That's the worst thing you can learn because you're just helping others to build and accomplish their dreams. What about your own dreams?

This picture is so true, isn't it? Most of the people are just helping their boss/superiors to accomplish their dreams. All they are looking for is "Security".
But sadly, SECURITY and FREEDOM are often mutually exclusive, meaning that you can either get one or another.

Let me ask you a question: Do schools teach you about passive income?
It's a very important topic in life because we all want to achieve financial freedom. But why didn't schools teach us about it?
Well, I don't know. But it's probably because traditional education systems were developed in the industrial age to train people to become productive workers so that the country can prosper.
But in today's digital world, that just doesn't work! Do you know how many PhD in your country are currently unemployed? We don't need to know the exact numbers but we all know the situation.
In fact, Robert Kiyosaki said,
"PhD stands for Poor, Helpless & Desperate"
I personally think that's a very accurate explanation!
So, I'm really happy for you that you're here reading this right now. Because what I'm sharing with you here will never be taught in any of the schools.
What Should I Do Then? (Alternatives to College)
My personal advice for you is this...
If you want to be rich and achieve financial freedom so that you can live life on your own terms, don't go to College or University.
I'm not saying you can't learn anything there or College is bad. I just think your TIME and MONEY can be better spent elsewhere.
Again, Robert Kiyosaki once said,
"The Rich go to Seminars. The Poor and Middle-class go to school"
Yes, I'm saying that you should start attending seminars. You should invest your TIME and MONEY to attend seminars instead of going to school. I can personally guarantee you that your life will never be the same if you start investing in yourself.
My recommendation is to start with the following 3 seminars:

- Business Investor Summit or National Achiever's Congress

Case Study:
For example, one year of tuition fee for Harvard for the year 2016-2017 cost USD$63,025. This include room, board and miscellaneous fees. But this doesn't include the cost of your living. (Source: Harvard)
$63K is just one year. If you times 4, it becomes $252K! That's insane. But a lot of students are competing among one another to go in and "make their parents proud". But they forgot one thing... They are competing to GET INTO DEBT!
Let me show you some statistics...
There are more than $1.3 Trillion of student loan debt in the US and the average bachelor degree holder take 21 years to pay off his or her loan!
How scary is that?
With Financial Education, you'll never have to worry for these bad debt!
If you can work your butts off for more than 4 years to get into debt, isn't it a better choice for you to work hard for 2 years to build your own full-time passive income streams so that you can enjoy the rest of your life?
Apart from seminars, you should start reading. Not fiction books, but those self-development and mindset books.
Once you start doing all these, your mindset will be totally transformed and you'll be prepared to be rich because of the Paradigm Shift.
WARNING!
Many parents today still have the outdated traditional mindset. Many of them will insist that you need to go to College/University so that you can find a better job and have a better life.
This is totally untrue but we cannot blame them because that's how they were raised. Now, I'm presenting to you this valuable piece of information and advice which a lot of people do not have. So you must consider yourself lucky!
I understand that if you told your parents you're not going to College, some of them will freak out. That's exactly what happened to me.
Because of that, we had gone through a lot of conflicts discussions within our family. After quarreling persuading them for some time, they finally allowed me to quit from traditional education.
But I know, my training/education never stop. I'm constantly educating and investing in myself.
By the way, I don't want to be guilty for any conflicts in your family if that really happens, LOL. I'm just presenting to you this idea so that you can make your own decision.
If you want to follow my advice but didn't manage to persuade your parents, I just want you to remember to put more focus on your Financial Education instead of Traditional Education.
Anyway, even if you decide or are forced to continue your traditional education, you should still be building your own passive income streams at the same time.

How to Build My Own Passive Income Streams?
There are many ways to build your own passive income streams. Just take a look at the growing number of Internet Celebrities, be it YouTuber, blogger, Instagram Influencers, etc... Most of these people have multiple streams of passive income.
If you are interested to become one, I would highly recommend you to learn more about it and give it a shot because being an Internet Celebrity can be really lucrative if done properly.
But that's not the main focus today because I know this is not for everyone. Some people just don't like to be famous.
The 2 main Passive Income categories are:
- Passive Investment Income
- Passive Business Income
Passive Investment Income = Money working for you = Wealth. This includes things like stocks and bonds that are going to pay you dividends.
The downside of this is that you need to have the capital to invest in the first place. So I'm sure this is not an option for most of you right now.
Passive Business Income = Business working for you = Freedom. This includes businesses like Multi-Level Marketing/Network Marketing, traditional franchise, royalties, intellectual properties and most importantly Online Business.
Among all these, online business has the lowest barriers to entry, meaning that it requires the least amount of skills, knowledge and capital. Yet, it is one of the most profitable and sustainable business for anyone with the right system.
There are many kinds of online business, be it E-commerce, dropshipping, selling your own products/courses or affiliate marketing.
My favorite way of building my passive income streams is through Affiliate Marketing!
The reasons are simple. Literally anyone can start their own profitable affiliate marketing business. You can start your business and build your own website as soon as TODAY. 1) Well, I actually dropped out of high school (and later another vocational school) and have never attended college before!
2) I started my online business when I was around 21 years old and having a full-time job. While I prefer working and earning actual life experiences from the job versus from an academic source, I was still unsatisfied with having to work for another person and not having the freedom to choose and do what I really want. I started to attend some online marketing conferences and it all started from there.
3) I found Wealthy Affiliate after being deeply dissatisfied with the affiliate marketing methods promoted by the so-called "gurus" who encourage you to only have eyes for conversion rates. This means using back-handed techniques like sale funnels and over promising things that you can't guarantee.
WA, on the other hand, was a breeze of fresh air. Kyle and Carson (co-founders of the site) seems to share the same opinion as I do on focusing on quality instead of quantity as well as putting customers and buyers before profit.
It's almost three years since I'm a WA member now and thanks to their teaching and all round awesome community, I was able to leave my full-time job at the end of May 2017 to become a full time online marketer.
Since then, my monthly earning had multiplied by tenfold. While I don't usually like to give numbers, I'll make an exception here 🙂
At the moment of writing this answer, I'm making over 10k per month.
1) Yes. I am currently taking classes in college towards a second degree.
2) I started online because I want to achieve geographical freedom so that I could move wherever I need to due to my girlfriend's situation at the time (was applying to med school and didn't know where she would end up).
3) My experience with WA is great... couldn't be much better really. It took a while to get going but I'm making around $6,000+ monthly now and this is the income I live off of.
(What we could learn from Kyle is that there's nothing wrong with getting a College degree (I never say it's wrong). But more importantly, you need to know what you're working for and you need to have your own Passive Income Streams so that you can pursue whatever dreams you have!)
1) I have now graduated with a Bachelor of Social Services but I started online with Wealthy Affiliate while I was still studying in the University of Applied Sciences. Even though I graduated from the school, I don't do anything nowadays with my degree because I'm able to work online, earn more and live wherever I want.
If I could go back 5 years in time, I wouldn't go to school and I would have started my online business right away. But I'm happy that I eventually started and found this opportunity.
2) I started because I wanted to earn money online and have a freedom to live wherever I want and travel around the world. I also thought that the earning potential is much higher than the "normal 9-5 jobs". Also, I can have a bigger positive impact on the world through the Internet.
If I would work in a 9-5 job, most likely I could just influence a few people around me but now I have an opportunity to influence hundreds and thousands or even millions of people all over the world.
3) I'm earning enough money to live and travel around the world. Wealthy Affiliate also opened my eyes for various opportunities to make money online which have been profitable as well.
In the past months I've earned more money online than I could've earned in a typical 9-5 job, even though I am from Finland where the salaries are usually pretty good.
In addition, the earnings are growing each month and I'm pretty excited about the future. I'm getting surprised by new opportunities and breakthroughs all the time that come along my way in the online world.
Being a member of Wealthy Affiliate community has played a huge role in the whole process and I couldn't have had the courage to quit my 9-5 job without WA.
1) I'm a college student that needs to pay for the rent, University fees, books, foods and different expenses.
2) I started my online business because I really needed some recurring income to pay off my recurring fees and expenses. Most jobs out there require you to spend at least 8-9 hours per day working. That will not give me enough time to concentrate on my studies.
That's why I started my own online business so I can make money even when I'm not working and also focus on my studies.
3) I joined Wealthy Affiliate in 2016 because I was looking for a good online business training that will teach me everything I needed in a simple step-by-step way.
I grabbed the first 10 lessons that WA offers for free and I quickly decided to go premium because of the quality training.
I worked my butt off applying what WA taught me, after 4 months I made my first sale. Needless to say, that was the best day of my life.
After a few months, I started making new sales regularly and my business really started to take off in the 7th month. Since then I've been making lots of sales and fast forward to today I earn around $800 to $1000 per month of Passive Income!
I'm 100% sure that if I stay consistent with my hard work I will reach my next goal which is $2,000 per month!
I was a college dropout back in December 2014 but then started an International Commerce training that lasted two years. I didn't know what to do right back as I thought that the only possibility I had was to start another College degree or to look for a job.
But then, one day while I was on a break, someone told me about a conference about the rich mindset that was taking place in a town near home, so I was curious and assisted.
Thanks to that conference, I met people who introduced to the world of MLM, and that's when I started searching whether it was possible to make a living online or not. I almost got scammed but thanks to that I found WA and started reading reviews. It took me like 3 months to decide whether to join WA or not as I was skeptical at first due to the many scams out there.
Now I don't plan to go to college because now I'm aware of the opportunities we have here. Opportunities that I wish I had known when I was finishing high school. I wouldn't have wasted time trying to get into college.
But no one around me knew about this, they still believe the traditional path is the right path and don't support me in this. I came to the conclusion that schools might not tell us about the real opportunities we have. I mean, the system was not created in the way that encourages creativity and entrepreneurship.
Why don't they teach anything about emotional intelligence or financial education? They don't train us to think for ourselves. If they did, many people wouldn't get into debt...
I must say, Miren, you're damn right! That's why I said traditional education is dead. It doesn't really prepare us for the future.

As for me, I wanted to pursue College as well but decided to stop at high school level because I soon realized you can never get rich if you follow the normal, traditional route like everyone else does.
My only goal is not to be rich but to have the financial freedom so I can trade money for valuable time that I can spend with my family/loved ones.
Of course, there are some exceptions of getting a good degree or even study your a** off for years to get a PhD and then the good paycheck comes in. But these people always seem to be in debt. That is primarily because they are not financially literate.
Additionally, the thought of getting up early in the morning for work, having to commute, DREAD the morning rush/traffic, being with co-workers/boss that you don't really like and doing that for the rest of your life until your retirement while living from paycheck to paycheck is scary. I'm pretty sure everyone does not want that.
Why do we even go to college? In order to get a job and end up to find yourself barely even surviving?
Of course, it's not always about the money but are these people truly happy? Most of the time it's all about work work work. What about spending time with your loved ones?
The fact that Wealthy Affiliate allows you to try out their Starter membership for FREE with no credit card information required AT ALL, was what pleased me the most. Oh and there are no upsells in WA which I know will turn many people off.
The most important lesson that I have learned ever since I joined WA is that working for yourself may be the toughest thing ever because you need self-discipline and that motivation to keep writing content.
But let me tell you this, it is so worth it! Put in the effort now and work hard because sooner or later you will pat yourself on the back and it is so much better than working for your boss!
I am currently a finalist student somewhere in a Third-world Country in Africa.
Unlike most, I won't lie to you that I started my website to help people. It was due to the broke lifestyle in College. We need money for grocery, rent, latest trend wears spending the "fun times" with friends. (Don't judge me. Okay? Cool.)
With time helping people has developed to be my passion as I no longer care so much about money. It's all about helping a fellow entrepreneur make their first sale online or help them grow their existing business.
I'm sure that I no longer need a job since I'm probably earning more than some of my professors.

Conclusion: Are you making the right choice?
Being Rich is a CHOICE. Being Financially Literate is a CHOICE. Being Financially Free is also a CHOICE. It all depends on the choices and decisions we make every single day. In fact...
Your financial situation today is the direct result of the decisions you've made in the past.
It's simple but it's not easy. To be honest, it might be much easier than you imagine.
All you need to do is to start educating and investing in yourself wisely. Take actions that can truly be beneficial for yourself and NOT the things that will make your parents proud or happy.
