Music Xray Review Summary
Product Name: Music Xray
Founder: Mike McCready
Product Type: Get Paid To Listen to Music
Price: Free to Join
Best For: People who want to listen to music and get paid for it.
Summary: Music Xray is a legitimate GPT platform that pays you to listen to music, coming from various independent artists and musicians. However, it doesn't provide you with a decent income because of its low-income potential. But if you don't mind earning a few bucks every week, this might be worth checking out.
What is Music Xray?
Music Xray is unlike most GPT sites we’ve encountered. Whereas most sites would have you doing surveys, signing up for offers, or watching videos, Music Xray just has you listening to music.
And believe it or not, the company was founded by a musician and entrepreneur. Mike McCready is listed as the company co-founder and current CEO. He was a signed musician with two hit singles. If you think this name is familiar, you’re thinking of Pearl Jam’s Michael McCready. Both happen to be very far and apart.

Inside Music Xray
Your main source of income from Music Xray is listening to songs based on your preferences. Your earnings are cashed out via PayPal once you reach the threshold amount.
After you fill up their sign-up form, you’ll then be matched with songs that you can listen to for cash. These are sent to you via your Member’s Dashboard.
That’s the gist of their program, but it goes deeper.
Here’s how you can make money from their program:
Option 1 – Submit Songs
If you’re an independent music artist or part of a band, you can submit your songs to industry experts and let them give you expert feedback.
You can also submit to industry professionals, which may also result in a huge payout. In rare instances, they might even offer you something in return.
The downside with Music Xray is that you have to pay a submission fee, which varies per song. You only know the exact amount once you’ve read the Offer Page along with the rewards if you get chosen by these professionals.
This may result in a huge payout if your song gets chosen. It’s kind of a gamble, actually, but this is already a huge selling point and doesn’t really have any disadvantage other than the submission fee.

Option 2 – Fan Digest
The Fan Digest is the part where you get paid to listen to songs from other members of the site. This is a straightforward process, and you can think of them as surveys.
During your registration, you will be asked for your preferences in music, which will affect the songs you receive in queue. You’ll receive these songs in your inbox, which means you are qualified to listen and earn money from it.
Once you finished listening to the song, you get paid $0.10 per. It’s a fixed amount so it seems. I have not read anything about varying amounts for the type of songs you listen to, or even the length of the song.
Option 3 – Tips
If you’re a musician, you can earn tips from Music Xray members. Once you’ve uploaded your songs, other members can listen to your songs. If they like it, they can leave a tip for a certain amount.
Tips are collected in your tip jar. But Music Xray will collect 10% of the tips collected that’s sent your way, and not as you cash out the entire thing. Which is a good thing. So if you someone tips you $1, you get $0.90. $0.10 goes to Music Xray.
How Do You Get Paid?
Music Xray pays you only through PayPal and uses USD as its main currency. Their payment system is also very straightforward.
As mentioned earlier, you’ll get $0.10 in your account balance for every song you listen to. The minimum payout threshold is $20. Your tips are also counted as earnings.
For artists who submit their song to Music Xray, the payout system is different because it will be provided by the industry professional who will be paying you.
Can You Use It On Mobile?
The site’s mobile-friendly, but there’s no app that will allow you to listen to the songs on. You’ll have to access the site via your mobile web browser. The mobile-version of the site is easy to navigate and easy to work with.
Who's Music Xray For?
Music Xray is intended for people who want to make money by listening to music.
Music Xray Ugly Truths Revealed!
#1 Low Income Potential
Obviously, this isn’t going to help you make millions. At a rate of $0.10 for an average of 3-minutes per song, you’re looking at $2 per hour at most. That’s about $5 less than the average minimum wage in the USA!
Now if this doesn’t bother you at all, then you might want to give this program a try.
#2 Limited Number Of Songs
20 songs per hour is quite generous to say the least. Because they’re very much like a survey site, you get music based on your preference. Which means that if your preference is obscure, then it may be difficult for you to land a few songs daily.
This ties in with their income potential, so that $2 per hour is really just what you’re going to be earning at most. You’re more likely hovering at about a few dollars per week.
What I Like About Music Xray?
#1 Get Paid To Listen To Music
What’s not to like about the program, other than the low income potential? You’re basically listening to apps such as Spotify, might as well make money from it right?
If you’re the type of person who likes to find the fresh tunes in each genre, Music Xray could help you with that.
#2 No Issues with Payment
Their system is very straightforward, and there haven’t been any complaints about people not getting paid. In fact, there’s a Reddit threat that showcased different people who used the platform, with their feedback on how much they made.
Also, depending on your genre, it’s not that difficult to get to $20. It might take you a few days or about a few weeks, depending.
Is Music Xray a Scam?
Music Xray is legitimate as far as we’re concerned. It doesn’t appear to be a scam despite of how unique this program is. However, if you are looking for a full-time income, this may not be the program for you.
- The overall income potential is low, at least for those who’re just listening to music. You’re earning less than hourly minimum wage, but you will get paid for your trouble.
- You’re probably going to get paid in a few weeks or so. But if you’re not in a rush to cash out, you can check this out.
Overall, the program is solid and could give you a few bucks here and there. If you have certain downtimes where you just feel like listening to music, why not earn while you’re at it?
