Organic Search Engine Optimization Tips #2

Does long contents rank higher than short posts?

The answer is Positive.

Studies have shown clearly that longer content tends to rank higher in Google's search results and the average 1st page result contains 1,890 words.

Despite we couldn't really know the actual reasons for this, but the following 4 are some possible reasons:

  1. Longer content tends to receive more social shares
  2. Longer content simply means there's more information and hence more in-depth the content is.
  3. Longer content allows Google to better understand the true topic of your page or post.
  4. Longer content can infer that the author cares a lot about creating great and valuable content hence more trustworthy by Google.

There's more possible reasons that can explain this. But ultimately, the key takeaway today is that in order to rank higher in Google, don't be afraid to write long articles as long as you are providing more valuable and in-depth information for your audience.

Do not have the thinking that people will not read long contents. If your article is really awesome, then there's nothing to worry about.

Just focus on writing awesome and LONG contents to get both your audience and Google's trust!
